Can anyone tell me if having
Amalgams underneath a crown is as dangerous as having them filling a tooth?
TK--- They are, they still off gas into the tissue. They will not be as directly affected by eating and drinking since they are under a crown.
I have 2 crowns where the dentist had to build the tooth to be able to put a crown on. I did this less than a year ago, and was very upset that I allowed him to do that since I knew about the dangers of amalgams, but I guess it was too late when I realized he put them in (I went to a regular dentist obviously). The crowns were expensive and look very beautiful, like real teeth (both molars) so
I really don't want to do anything right now, but still wonder, as I am very health conscious if I should make it a priority to do something about it now. Any advice?
TK--- You can not chelate if that is your goal. If you don't have any health problems with only two possible
Amalgams under crowns it is going to be a personal decision.
Amalgam is bad for you but without more info on health and other personal factors it would be hard to give any valuable input. If you have other
Amalgam and or failing health then I would suggest removing them properly.
