Hi jeneric
Here is what I would suggest and the reasons why.
Sesame oil has calcium, helps to rebuild the myelin nerve sheath.
MSM is the most remarkable I can think of for repairing the myelin sheath. MSM is found at most major vitamin and supplement suppliers.
Essiac assist the liver to produce lecithin, which forms part of the myelin sheath.
I would also add grape juice with meals.
Essiac is anti-tumor and anti-mutagenic. This may be helpful, since ALD gene was discovered in 1993, and a mutation in the body causes the fatty covering (myelin sheath) on nerve fibers in the brain to be lost. It is caused by a buildup of long chain fatty acids in the brain, because these long chain acids are not broken down.
Example: Palmitic acid found in lard and butter, is a long chain fatty acid.
I would suggest omega-3 fatty acids from EPA and DHA, supplementation with 2-4 grams of EPA + DHA each day can lower triglycerides by 20-40% according to the American Heart Association. The effects are dose related.
Triglycerides are the backbone of the bad type of long chain fatty acids. By removing the backbone of the long chain fatty acids, the body can remove the broken down fat. I would also suggest pine needle to help with the removal.
I presume you have already read about "orenzo's Oil" or seen the movie about Lorenzo's Oil for ALD?
