If an inexpensive cure for cancers was to be discovered, the $100,000,000,000+ yearly oncology business would be destroyed. Pharma stocks would crash, medical centers would collapse. The cancer charities would cease to exist.
It is easy to understand why pharma is only interested in patentable treatments. Thye are inthe business to make $$.
What is criminal is that the American Cancer Society, and most other cancer charities, along with most public universities, are marching lock-step with big pharma. The same is true for the FDA
The simple illustration is the life of a chem drug. If the drug fails to provide benefit, the charities and universities would continue to test using every imaginable combination of drugs. In the mean time, oncologists can freely dispense the usless and toxic drugs even though they provide no benefit to the patient (and may even shorten life). Using Oxaliplatin or cisplatin (or any other highly tosic chemo agents) as a placebo is not only stupid, it is criminal, and should be outlawed.
OTOH, look at the official tests for laeterile and vitamin C. One quick trial, a release stating no benefit, and then suppression of treatment. Also, even if megadose vit-C or laeterile were useless, what harm is there in ussing them as a placebo? Yet, it is illegal for a Dr. to use such treatments on a hopelessly terminal patient.
