The thing that really bothers me about the removal (then the return of) some of the posted messages is the fact that a moderator, who knows nothing about atheism, and had no idea "how the forum grew to such proportions" took it upon herself to lord her power of deletion over the forum.
* She called atheism a religion; it is not. I explained this to her, and she deleted that message without giving reason.
* She accused the forum of "baiting" christians with the posted message to prove the existence of god. I do not recall any message posted calling out christians specifically. Any person believing in a god or gods were welcome to post a response. It just so happened that only christians felt compelled to answer.
* She said this forum is not for debating christian vs atheist views. I never saw that rule any where. She also said the forum was created specifically not to allow any christian or god prespectives. I never saw that rule either.
As for the name calling, well that was almost totally Chaz. Chaz does that on every forum, and has behaved the same way ever since I first found CureZone, when he was posting as Grog. I assume he has been banned for the name calling.
I understand the moderators moderate from the goodness of their own hearts. That is very generous and much appreciated. But when one moderator projects her feelings on to a forum by deleting messages, it is no longer moderation. It is censorship.

Good points. However, you say.." the fact that a moderator, who knows nothing about atheism". How do you know for a fact that this moderator knows nothing about atheism?!? Aah, perhaps you're assuming she was acting out of her own religious biases. But has it ever occured to anyone that this moderator might have been trying to defend this forum and its residents, and perhaps it just kind of backfired??? Hmmmnn....
But then, that is what happens when censorship takes place, someone's toes always get stepped on, and naturally no one likes that.
No matter, cheer up dear ones, this may turn out to be a great lesson for all of us yet.

was comming from atheists as a part of discussions.
That christians would not be allowed to come and disrupt the forum.
I read 2 posts myself that did indeed *challenge* christians to come prove them wrong.
I have to agree with the moderator that posts like that are very inciteful to disruptive threads.
It appears to me that you just want to fight for the sake of fighting.
and to ignore the rules... after being asked to get forum back on focus,
you instead started trying to fight with a moderator... and nit pick at words.
Also you said that the moderator was not an atheist and had no clue about it.
I don't believe the moderator EVER stated a personal viewpoint on that.
To jump to such a conclusion is simply a figment of your own imagination
based on personal speculation with no fact as a basis to support those words.
I don't see how you can say that the moderator was acting out based on personal *feelings*
The rules say exactly what will happen concerning certain posts.
I think you are just po'd that a moderator actually enforced the rules,
which in my opinion was an action that should have taken place many months ago.
that is the way I see it.
If you are really dedicated to the forum , why aren't you focusing your energy
into rebuilding it into a good debate forum for atheists?
It even brought me out from just reading,
to post some topic related matter.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to respond to this message or not. It is directed to me, in a antagonistic fashion.
When a moderator does not know the meaning of the word "Atheist", I do not consider that "nit-picking" words. For anyone to consider atheisim a religion shows a lack of understaning of what atheism is. I never said Moogi was not an atheist. I was an atheist before I knew what the word ment.
Moogi called asking for proof of god thread "baiting", yet it is still there. That seams odd to me. The whole message left after the clean up seemed stange to me. It came off as emotionally driven. I felt compelled to speak up.

What's the problem? It's a debate form, and we're debating the existence of God!
If Christians et. al., are not allowed to inject their arguments, and we are not allowed to counter-argue, what's the point in having the forum?
Too much wuss-ism on Atheist Debate. If there's no disruption, that's a good sign that there's no actual debate. If anyone gets their feelings hurt, there's hundreds of Support Forums to go to for sympathy.

Now maybe rules for blogs? or perhaps not- Now I know (lossely) rules you are bound to as a moderator- Since yoga form is an inactive forum (too bad) I go to maybe 4 forums- I seem to be on lapis- who always seem pretty much patience and Wrenn forums who alos tries to untangle the tangled- results have varied but it is just my opinion-

This is a reply to # 327,886I think your idea to post there was misguided and I really am heart felt hurt to see the stuff said about Kundalini yoga and in particular Yogi Bhajan- especially since it is clear neither the mod or the forum owner know anything about it- they are bullies and disrespectful- the good thing abou that kind of behavior is that it is quite revealing as to their real yoga style- I want it all off please..
I think the moderator outta be spanked but she probably like it!
That the Webmaster allows this is a . I tbreaks my heart to see what was allowed tostay there- can youhave the all that is to do with me removed?

The moderators participate in the same forums that they moderate and being human I think the 2 influence one another- so rather than new moderators, perhaps if you are a particpator that feels strongly about some subjects peopl places etc, than moderating may have it's conflicts and opinions -and these are seen in some of the way some of the forums are moderated
Sorry to pick on Aye and Janaki, but that was a prime example -not just a couple a times but often, of how a moderator assumes ownership and then breaks all the rules themselves...this is what is off for me and i am sorry to beat up that example but that is the forum I have the most expertise and interest in- that is what ha sme going...Thanks

This is a reply to # 327,885In case you're not aware, Aye and Janaki are not moderators, just long time posters. If you believe a post does not follow the rules, or a thread has gotten well out of hand, please use the "Alert Webmaster" button to let us know.
When "Alert Webmaster" is pressed, alerts go to all of us. All moderators can operate within all forums, with polite exception given to a few such as 'Named' forums (example: "Ask Andreas") as a courtesy. Named forums are moderated by the owner and CureZone team members only step in when asked. ANY moderating action taken by any moderator also sends an alert to all of us.
Moderators are simply fellow CureZone people who donate an inordinate amount of their own time, for free, to help keep CureZone from becoming filled with commercialism, spam, and other non-alternative health related posts. From time to time, we need to step in to keep a support forum from becoming overwhelmingly negative. Negativity and good health are not precisely compatible. The rules are quite well spelled out, but the interpretation can be a bit hairy at times, and sometimes, well, with 632 message boards and 467139 messages (as of this post) some things fall through the cracks.

It is right at the top of every message you post,
and also at the top of every forum page.
It is also at the top of your blog,
and the top of every message you post on a blog.
There are additional Blog Rules , which you can easily see when you create a blog,
and at anytime on blogs: frequently asked questions by Spirit.
Blog Rules are a bit different than Forum Rules but not by much.

Whats all the stink about ? These where not manifesto's, we are talkin about a few low ball posts that where hid to enable getting rid of miles of swing 71 jibberish cut and paste redundancies! Its a cyberspace posting forum not your final exam!If swing is the best we can do in a debate forum and to say we need his instigation to defend our postition, is like saying we need to be baited to have a debate , which in reality are not debates at all but low ball baiting of each other! Lets get over this event and chalk it all up to learning and experiencing these things! I am also positive moderator moogi did what she did with good intentions and was simply doing her job! If you have a real complaint you can personally e mail the webmaster, if you are that concerned , but I really think this can just end if we want it to! Another point to ponder is the alert button, if pressed often enough mods will come in and clean house, so whose to say how many times that button was pressed!
