Hi,
I am three weeks into the program and have a question about teeth. My teeth hurt, specifically my roots and cavities. Does this mean I need to replace my fillings? Also, my gums are almost white. Worried about that. Also, it tastes/feels like I am biting down on tin foil.
I don't have the money to get my teeth fixed. Is there an alternative to doing this so they stop hurting?

Hello,
I have just started the journey to get my Amalgams out. I suggest you read the book "It's all in you head" by Hal Huggins. He also has a website www.hugnet.com. I have started to take Chlorella in the last few days and feel a lot better. Although it hasn't been long enough to know for sure if it is the Chlorella.
Dr Huggins office is very friendly and informative. I have heard of clinics in Mexico that were inexpensive. I was quoted $125-$250 per tooth.

MoreThis is a reply to # 31,992I'm not a dentist, but I do have some knowledge of toxins, and the amount of mercury a person recieves from fillings leaching mercury is minute. But I say - do what you want to your own teeth.
My real concern is that you might want to think long and hard before you regect a dentist in the US in favor of one in Mexico. You may spend a less to have the fillings removed, but if the work is underpar, you will have little or no recourse. I must assume that you are not one of the people that have trouble with mercury fillings in your teeth. I can truthfully say that you need to do some intensive research on toxins, especially mercury. Just my opinion about your post.

And after reading them, I have to say that I was right in the first place. Mercury IS a harmful chemical, but the issue that most people ignore is the dose-response relationship that connects the amount of a chemical to any effects it could have. The dose that a person is going to inhale and ingest from elemental mercury in dental fillings is generally much less than what would be needed to cause the harmful effects many people claim. It is more likely that a person would have harmful effects from eating fish, as they have a more bioavailable form of mercury. But as I said in my previous message, I personally don't care what you do with your teeth, I just think giving someone advice to head to Mexico so "El Doctoro" can rip out your fillings is a bad and potentially unsafe idea.

I love your statment where you claim Mercury spillage from Amalgams is minimal and poses no health threat. That was the tip off. I suggest you go back and hang with the corporate whores that you serve. You may also look up the history of where the name quack came from. That in itself may be enlightening for you.

Your idea that anyone who believes that Science has value or even worse - IS a scientist, must work for "THE GOVERNMENT" or Quackwatch is the thought of a paranoid person. The truth is, I am a toxicologist, I don't work for any pharmaceutical companies, or medical companies, or the government. I have no ties to Quackwatch or any other orginizations besides the Society of Toxicology. What I meant to say is the you Blueduck, are paranoid and your argument is easily considered a rant, when your only point is that "They" are out to stop you. Come on, get back on your meds and rejoin reality. If you don't want science, fine, ignore me. But I think that some people are here because they want help and answers, and I believe that modern Science can help some of the people here.

Damn, I thought I found a website where I could learn something useful. Instead, I found a bunch of snotty kids arguing on the playground.
Give it up, you guys. None of you are totally right, none of you are totally wrong. Everyone has to find out what their own truth is, and it isn't the same for everyone.
Although I disagree with Mr. Toxicologist about the mercury (I had all my Amalgams removed last year and my 10-year chronic back pain disappeared in 1 day), at least he started out being civil and had some actual reasoning behind his opinions. He didn't just come out swinging with namecalling and ranting because you didn't say what he wanted to hear.
I'm leaving to find some adults with some brains who know how to discuss and debate, rather than rant and swear at each other and call each other names.

This is a reply to # 32,011I note that you changed what I said. I said that mercury is a toxic chemical, but at low levels it is not likely to cause harmful effects. And the majority of people with amalgram fillings will only be getting a very low dose. As for sugar, I wasn't defending it, I was just making fun of the person who seemed to attribute every possible harmful thing to sugar. I thought attributing Terrorism to Sugar was the natural next step.

Are you saying its okay to put one of the most toxic substances known to mankind in our mouths. Not likely to cause harmful effects? Tell that to the multitude of people that have had that particular toxic waste removed from their mouths and have their symptoms disappear.
