Only you can decide whether or not to continue the Colonix...but personally I do not recommend using stimulant laxatives, especially senna. This class of laxatives works by irritating the intestinal lining resulting in rapid expulsion of the contents of the GI tract. With frequent use, they can weaken the bowel muscle and impair peristalsis...resulting in laxative dependence. In my colon hydrotherapy practice I have seen many people who use stimulant laxatives or Colon Cleanses
that contain them who end up with worse colon functioning after the cleanse than they had before they began the program.
If you use any laxative, just make sure that you use a minimal amount (ie. weak tea)...enough to keep things moving, but not so much that you get diarrhea. And if you are seeing alot of undigested food in your stool...stop the laxatives! Another problem with them is that they make food pass through your digestive system too quickly so that food is not broken down and nutrients are not absorbed.
