Sounds really good to me, Peta.
Your experiences are far wider than mine. I'm just beginning.
I'm also struck by the many mentions of both grains and dairy as culprits. And bread yeasts.
Have you cut out those as well as sugar? And, if so, was it just for a period of time...or permanently?
I wonder if there isn't some particular time length for fasting only on the good stuff that is effective against Candida overgrowth. Perhaps we'd need to repeat the fast every so often.
Another point that I find myself repeating everywhere...
Imbalance of electrolytes causes no end of trouble. That's sodium, potassium, magnesium, and chloride (if I have it correctly). Apparently all one has to do is crumble some kelp (or other seaweeds) (two teaspoonfuls per day?) on bits of food, chew well, and wash them down with slurps of water. (I'm learning to eat small meals slowly, in this way.) (Celtic grey
Sea Salt also helps, because of the many minerals.)
This balancing of the electrolytes allows us to consume a little more water each day, without endangering the balance of water in and outside the cell walls.
This comes from JamesG's recommended reading websites (mentioned in the Adrenal Fatigue forum), and they also speak about the vital copper/zinc balance.
I wonder how many are affected by copper pipes in their homes. The best remedy for poor water quality I can see is Dr. Masaru Emoto's blessing. He exposes water to harmony of many kinds, including loving and appreciative words. He then photographs the crystals from freezing. Blessed water freezes into beautiful crystals; whereas the same water, polluted or exposed to discord, made only ugly, unbalanced crystals.
I know, I had to think this one over, too. But, since all water, including that within our cells, is connected by vapour, it can't hurt to say or write "I love you...I appreciate you."
I'm going to eat more cabbage, that's for certain. Thank you very much for all your good information and experiences, Peta. You have helped me.
