Are you a skeptic?
I was a skeptic too until I took a good hard look at the claims of Jesus Christ. In college I met several students who challenged me to take a closer look, to study and examine the Christian faith.
I took the challenge, feeling certain I could prove Christianity to be false, a religion built on nice stories that couldn't stand up to the test of truth.
But as I dug deeper and deeper into the claims of Christianity, I was shocked. I found facts, not fiction. I found so much evidence that I could only come to one conclusion Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was crucified, He died, and He was resurrected on the third day.
Soon after this discovery, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. That was 39 years ago. My life has been completely changed because I have a personal relationship with Christ.
As a skeptic, you've probably heard this before, but don't just shrug it off I challenge you, as those students challenged me examine the claims of Jesus Christ for yourself. If there's even the slightest chance that He truly is the Son of God, shouldn't you be willing to find out?

Facts? I wont be baited into asking 'what evidence', its predictably false facts.
The thing you don't understand is that the best part of religion is FAITH. You need facts? - then you dont have enough faith. There are no facts about the existence of god. On your side, it cannot be DIS-Proven either. Thats where it will sit until God shows up and we actually see him/her/it. So please stop saying it is a fact, it doesn't look good on you, it makes you look like an *diot. {"looks like", I am not saying you ARE one.]
There are some facts about evolution... I say evolution and god can exist together, but many or most christians have decided to ignore that possibility. I shouldn't bring it up here...
You go against my views that the earth is our god, and who is right? Neither of us, I am not trying to convince you of my views ; Spirituality is a personal thing...
What I see in your transformation is this :

You went searching and you found others who told you stuff. You spent time with christians in your seeking. I bet you didn't seek far afield, did you?
It is the power of manipulation and indoctrination. Brainwashing is easy when there are many others saying the same things. Humans are prone to that allways. It happens to me too.
I like it when people find spirituality on their own, then it is not tainted by previous 'transformations' by other people.
Why oh why do I answer these? Sorry, you are probably insulted. i came here to get some suport, and end up arguing about this stuff instead. Its not nice of me, but I will drop it here I think - you had your say, and I did too.
Arrrggg - religion is the world's main sore point now, the source of almost all wars and so much abuse and crime. I just wished it would end, as I thought it did with the Boomers. NOt!! But it is getting less popular at least. Still, it will be another 100 years before we get over this phase in our development. Arrrgggg.

This is a reply to # 269,809I have to agree with Karlin here. I used to be a Christian (not a nominal one but a militant Creationist-fundamentalist) and I left Christianity for two reasons: it wasn't what it promised to be (a solution to my life's problems) and because its claims COMPLETELY LACKED ANY SUPPORTING EVIDENCE. I really wonder what evidence this fellow forum member is talking about, seeing that I found none after two years of research and contemplation. I have since become a "spiritual atheist" if that makes any sense.

This is a reply to # 269,810Hey, I hear you 42412. My mom was a born again christian for all my childhood. Even as a kid I knew it was all foolishness. I mean get real! Maybe just think of religion and god as santa to a little kid. Why blow it for them? For some people it is just their own little safe thing they have.

"God" (and the a-holes) told my mother to marry this man who was a total scum bag-drug addict looser. I could go on and on about him, but I'm sure you get the picture (divorced, no thanks to god). Oh yah, he would sin away all week long, then ask for forgivness and was so in touch with god by the time sunday rolled around. I think of that as PROOF there is no god. I would be an atheist regardless of my upbringing, but the born agains, YIKES! If they are in heaven, well I would rather burn in hell. ICKY ICKY bad people! Not all of them, but most of whom I have met.
