I read that cayenne pepper or even black pepper can help if you place it around possible entrances to your home. Mix up a solution with plenty of both and put it in a spray bottle for hard to reach areas. I laid out pepper once for an opposum that was getting in my house and he sneezed and gave away his location... I then ran him out of the house.

Try scattering some human hair around. They don't like that.

it will require you to leave your primises while your property is disinfected... and it will also require a trip walley world to help you find just the thing you need... there will probably be an initial cost outlay of a couple hundred dollars to buy at least a 400amp boom box with woofer and tweeters... and lots of base... then the rest is pretty simple... just invite some of your teenage headbanging neighbors over... (or use some of your own teenage headbangers if you have any handy)... turn up the volume and the base and leave... guaranteed to clear out all those pesky rats... neighbors... bill collectors... preachers... teachers... almost everything... guaranteed...!!!

i believe the one you will want is fox urine.

it comes in a powder crystalized form that is resistant to weather even.. and makes the *pest critter* think that its most feared predator has moved into the area.
so the *critter leaves naturally to a different place.
it is great for attics, along the outside walls of houses..
under crawl spaces etc/

along edges of a garden or esp around plants that you might not want eaten by say : squirrels etc (like tulip bulbs *smile*)
