I purchased a 'Cardio Chek PA' device along with the test strips for a full Lipids Panel.
This was not cheap, however, it is the Best 'In-Clinic' or 'In-House' Tester for Cholesterol or total Lipids on the Market.
Just do a Google Search for Cardio Chek PA and you will find many sources.
I purchased mine last June, with the 25 Lipid Strips for just under $1000.00 US.
It has paid for itself in Lab Tests, especially if you test every month or so as I do. It is NOT covered by most insurances because it is so pricey.
THe alternative is to buy a home-testing device for Total Cholesteral - THey cost about $100.00 US abnd are available at Walmart Pharmacies, or Walgreens. They only test full Cholesterol , and does not divide the lipids into HDL /LDL/ and triglycerides.
Also Available are 'one test' machines which cost about $10.00 US each. These also only report "full Cholesterol"
These machines are not sanctioned nor approved by any lab authority ,but the Cardio CHek PA IS sanctioned for Clinical Use and accuracy, hense the big price tag.
