Here's an interesting study on the efficacy of Ferula asafoetida (hing):
http://jbums.org/browse.php?a_id=5809&slc_lang=en&sid=1&ftxt=1
For the tl;dr crowd, it has no anti-nematodal (roundworm) properties, but has significant anti-cestodal (tapeworm) properties. At least against Hymenolepis Nana.
It's not as efficacious as praziquantel, but might be comparable to niclosamide when taken more frequently than a single dose.
Considering its abundance and low cost, it seems like a good alternative to pharmaceuticals.
