I got prescribed a corticosteroid by 2 dermatologists who actually knew EC. So it's definitly the go-to cream for dermatologists.
I used it and it definetly helped me a bit. I no longer have crusts on my lips but they still peel. So whenever they peel off they just heal perfectly and I have normal lips but the problem is that whenever I eat, this normal looking skin is just too weak and rips open and peels off ( so this isn't actually peeling but more like ripping open of the lips. Becuase if I don't let any food or water or anything touch them they stay normal and don't really peel). But I think that this is because of a overuse of corticosteroid cream, which you asked about in your post, and that I now have something called Atrophy, which is caused by overuse of steroid creams . But I did use these creams for like 2-3 months. So if you still have crusts forming on your lips or they don't heal good after pealing I would definitely recommend corticosteroid creams.
