I have what the doctor thinks is a mycoplasma infection causing UTI/pelvic pain etc. Ive been on AB for a month.
Being keen on research, Ive done a lot on borax. What I find frustrating and bizarre are where are the opinions from medics/chemists?
Apart from Ted in Bangkok and a couple of doctors who researched years ago, all I can find is accounts from people who've tried it.
Whilst this is great, there is a lot of contradiction which cynics will love, and leaves me thinking 'what is the truth'? I mean for starters why is everyone doing different dosages? It can't be that hard to agree on a basic dosage.
Also if it does work...there must be some forward thinking and clever scientists Doctors who are looking into this..where are they? It can't be hard for someone with clout to declare IT'S NOT POISONOUS...rather than lots of anectodotal stuff.
I've bought some but both the professor Im seeing and a herbalist say don't take it.
IF it does cure people...then why is no one fighting for it to be legitimised? it's all hidden on these forums ...which if it is a cure is really sad.

This is a reply to # 2,272,321Yes, it is sad; but just adds to the list of "cures", medication that cannot be patented. Few doctors would recommend a washing powder:), they would probably loose their license!
There is a brain-cancer medication coming up though; Boron Neutron capture therapy. As long as it can be patented, it can be promoted to the doctors.
With AB; do you mean anti-body treatment, or Antibiotics ?
Anyway; for mycoplasma there is few cures, borax is definitely worth a try IMO, and connected to UTI, pelvic area.

This is a reply to # 2,272,321Look at the MSDS. This compound has an extremely low oral toxicity. From Wikipedia:

As a consequence, certain foods, such as caviar, produced for sale in the US contain higher levels of salt to assist preservation.[23] Its use as a cooking ingredient is to add a firm rubbery texture to the food, or as a preservative. In oriental cooking it is mostly used for its texturing properties. In Asia, borax (Chinese: 硼砂; pinyin: péng shā) or (Chinese: 月石; pinyin: yuè shí) was found to have been added to some Chinese foods like hand-pulled noodles lamian and some rice noodles like Shahe fen, Kway Teow, and Chee Cheong Fun recipes.[24]
I found a site that says it is used in caviar in the EU. It's gotta be safe if the ruling elite eat it and forbid it for everyone else. WTF?
I think your herbalist might be hesitant because it is found in the cleaning aisle. Call it Sodium Borate from now on.
