Sorry your question fell through the cracks. Ir was so tough you scared everyone away :--)) Just kidding.
1) First off, does Iodide
still detox bromine and fluoride? (I would think it would, but I'm surprised to have a lot less 'detox' reactions at such high levels.)
A) It does. Every time we raise our dosage, whether Lugols
we can expect even more detox. I was surprised to see chest pimples result from adding 800mg SSKI
to my 50mg iodoral that I had been taking for a year. The high dosages flushes out the toxins faster, so that is why it seemed to be less. Trapper saw additional detox when he first went to 1 gram.
2)I've been experiencing notably more hair loss since starting Iodine
therapy. Is it toxins or the iodine?
It's not the iodine, as Iodine
makes everything better. It could be your thyroid is hormone level is changing. See STTM here:
Do you have cold hands & cold feet? How is your body temp?
Are you taking too much selenium or brazil nuts? Selenium toxicity or the wrong selenium will cause hair loss. 200mcg is recommended.
Also see this thread for hair loss:
3) How long does it take to remove all the Bromide, fluoride and chlorine etc.. And replace it?
A) IMO, there is no perfect answer here. It depends on how toxic you are and your dose of iodine, and the amount of new toxins coming in every day. We live in a sea of these toxins, they are everywhere - in our food, water, furniture, cars, offices. Under the best of conditions I would guess 6 months to a year minimum at 100mg a day.
The "Official Answer" from Hakala Labs:
"After 3 months of supplementation with 50 mg Lugols
or Iodoralģ per day, most non-obese subjects not exposed to excess goitrogens achieve whole body Iodine
sufficiency, arbitrarily defined as 90% or more of the iodine load excreted in the 24 hour urine collections. Adult subjects retained approximately 1.5 grams of iodine when they reach sufficiency. A repeat loading test following 3 months on orthoiodosupplementation is recommended." More here: http://www.hakalalabs.com/resources.html
Best to you,
