Does anyone know if there is a lab where we can get the worm or parasite itself tested ? Rather then testing a stool sample ,which will miss them most of the time ?
There must be a parasite expert out there that can identify these things .
I was thinking about taking the beasties in to the doc and asking them to send them to a lab .BUT we all know the risks for that .God knows I don't want to give them the match box symptom and have them label me DOP .
So this leaves me wondering if there is a lab somewhere we can send them to ourselves .
Has anyone tried this ?

This is a reply to # 2,180,678He's an MD, and also worked as a parasitologist for the military in Vietnam. He tests three samples of stool using microscopy, which isn't the most reliable method. I know of a few people of which he found Ascaris eggs in their stool. He didn't find the eggs in mine, but confirmed the diagnosis based on the worms themselves. Best of luck to you!

This is a reply to # 2,180,645Dr. Amins lab in Arizona does it too. They found nothing with mine though. Said they were mucous food etc, so no better than the local labs IMO.

This is a reply to # 2,180,645Good news .My urine samples are being looked at as we speak :) Fingers crossed I get a proper ID .Whatever I find out I will post on here in case it will help someone else who lives in the U.S

This is a reply to # 2,182,247just was wondering if you ever sent your worms off. I am interested in doing the same thing. I have 2 young children and we are all sick with something and I dont really know how to treat it, stool sample was negative so I would like to send what I found off. thanks
