Because American Board of Cosmetic Surgery is the only borad that examines a skills of a surgeon in performing facial cosmetic surgery or surgery on body. It is one of several ABMS Boards. Other board include American Board of Dermatologic Surgery, or the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This is the minimum requirement to become a plastic surgeon.
