I made about 32oz 5% Lugols Iodine in early December 2012. I placed it all in 4oz glass amber bottles with a dropper top. I placed magnets on the bottle that I am using for daily use.
The (magetized bottle)dropper usually holds 16 drops, and it fills my empty capsule to the top. Today I notice that it took 22+ drops to fill the capsule! I filled the dropper once more, and again it held 22+ drops. The dropper isnt corroded nor looks like it is leaking. I took out another bottle without magnets, and that bottle held 16 drops as normal.
What is going on here? Are the magnets affecting the Lugols?
Summarize
Lugols w/ magnets: was 16 drops, now dropper is holding more.
Lugols w/o magnets: still holding 16 drops
***Off topic, does anyone know where I can get plastic lined caps for 4oz amber bottles, to replace the dropper tops? I have a feeling the rubber isn't going to last long.Advertisement

if the drops are smaller then youll need more drops. using a measure like a capsule and it takes more drops to fill it now? that just means it takes that many more drops to reach that dose.

**But we been here before and I still say that SSKI would do better with magnets on longer like your second bottle should be on it for weeks before using or some DC running through coiled wire around the bottle..

I'm answering YOU in this particular thread concerning bottles because of your knowledge of what Iodine can do.
As far as usage and storage, try the keyword "ampule" with glass bottle, or amber glass ampule (or ampoule) bottles.
Some can be heat closed up, but some styles have glass toppers.
It's all in what the usage is for (one-time usage, long-time storage, etc).
Interesting stuff - too much to list without knowing automatically what and what not to rule out.
For example: I would assume one would have to rule out the cork-topped ones - but, they're not the only choice.
The bottom line?
The word AMPULE is what popped into my head.

Now foods vit B liquid bottles with dropper tops; so far the only rubber I know of that can take Iodine for months and years without crumbling it.- Re: My Lugol's Iodine becoming more ... Johny Apple Bomb

This is a reply to # 2,033,757I get 1 ounce dropper bottles for $1.00 a piece so I don't care if they last. And they last about a year anyway. I don't know if they ship to your country or not though.

I don't understand, how does the capsule not melt with liquid Iodine in it? What kind of capsules are they? Do you fill each capsule by hand or do use a tool similar to this?
