You don't have staph infection unless it's been clinically diagnosed by an MD.
I used to get a boil or two - pre WWII - before antibiotics.
Simple home treatment. Keep it clean. Lots of iodine on the boil and open sore. Lots of gauze on the wound - and allow some air through the gauze to the boil. Change bandage and apply iodine daily. It will drain, come to a head, ooze some at first, and then heal. Takes a week or ten days.
Never went to a doctor. Couldn't afford the $1 office visit. Almost all remedies in those days were home remedies and mother nurse knew all of them.
Memory's slipping - it was 50 cents for an office visit, $1 for a house call, and they didn't object to house call in those days either.
