The US Navy may have the world's most powerful electromagnetic gun - the so-called railgun - during the forthcoming 15 years. The "Weapon of the 21st Century," as Russian specialists described it, was undergoing tests during the recent several years. US defense officials were satisfied with the results. They have already signed the first contract to create the power source for the gun. The railgun needs a lot of energy to accelerate projectiles to supersonic speeds.
Raytheon Company, one of the USA's largest defense suppliers, signed an agreement with the Naval Sea Systems Command for the creation of the power system for the railgun. The agreement was evaluated at $10 billion, a message on the website of the company said.
In accordance with the agreement, Raytheon undertakes to design and build the power module, which will become a part of the Pulse Forming Network (PFN). In the future, the system can be used for the production of railguns and combat lasers.

This is a reply to # 1,905,879E-Systems (now owned by Raytheon) - which boasts an impressive bevy of former high-ranking CIA, NSA and DoD personnel - is a major government contractor allegedly involved in some very dirty business.[1]Some of the people on E-Systems’ personnel roster include former NSA Director (and CIA Deputy Director) Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, former CIA Deputy Director Peter Moreno (Director of the Agency’s Technical Services Division), and former CIA Director Admiral W. F. Raborn, who also sits on the board of Wackenhut - a large quasi-governmental security/intelligence firm loaded with former CIA and FBI people - also reportedly involved in some highly questionable covert activities.E-Systems’ CEO from 1989 to 1993, E. Gene Keiffer, a former Marine, was described as a “prominent figure among intelligence community contractors.[2]E-Systems has collaborated with the U.S. intelligence community, including the military and the CIA, since 1947. As their press release states:“A leader in systems integration, E-Systems business areas include reconnaissance and surveillance systems; specialized aircraft modification; command, control, and communications; electronic imaging; and other information-based technologies....”[3]E-Systems’ contracts include Air Force One - the Presidential jet, and the so-called nuclear Doomsday Plane. They also produce navigation equipment, air-traffic control systems, and electronic border security systems.E-Systems has nine divisions, the largest being its Greenville plant. Sales were $1.99 billion dollars in 1991, and $2.1 billion in 1992.[4]Yet E-Systems denies any involvement with the CIA. As Daniel Brandt of Public Information Research writes:“E-Systems president John W. Dixon insists that “we have never done any business with the CIA,” even though other former top CIA officials are among the senior executives at E-Systems, and Dixon himself was a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers in 1983. Okay, we’ll assume that they work together out of love of country to prevent excessive corporate profiteering....”[5]Contrary to Dixon’s claims, E-Systems purchased the CIA’s front company, Air Asia, in 1975 - a company that had been involved in countless covert operations in Southeast Asia (not to mention drug smuggling). The purchase “gave E-Systems the largest aircraft repair-and-maintenance facility in Southeast Asia and a vast network of CIA affiliations.”[6]Fraud, Drug smuggling, etc.

Nowadays, prisoners are helping build missiles and other sophisticated weapons, and providing dirt-cheap labor in the process.While earning as little as 23 cents an hour—and no more than $1.15—inmates assemble electronic components for the Patriot missile, which has been used by the U.S. military and sold to allies like Israel, Egypt, Kuwait and Taiwan . The use of prisoners employed by Unicor, a government-owned corporation formerly known as the Federal Prison Industries, saves the makers of the Patriot, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, a lot of money on labor costs.Unicor inmates also have contributed work to the building of the McDonnell Douglas/Boeing F-15 fighter, the General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin F-16, Bell/Textron’s Cobra helicopter and BAE Systems’ Bradley Fighting Vehicle.Prisoners used to make helmets for the military, until 44,000 of them had to be recalled for shoddy quality.Although Unicor is pitched as a job training program for prisoners, it has some observers worried. William Hartung, author of Prophets of War: Lockheed Martin and the Making of the Military-Industrial Complex, told Justin Rohrlich of Minyanville, “It’s really on the cutting-edge of questionable practices.
