I read an earlier thread about dandruff and things like thyme, tea tree oil, coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar.
I get my hair colored- what is my best bet to minimize the loss of color when I wash my hair and still control the dandruff? If it matters, I have curly hair, which means I have to take extraordinary steps to keep it moisturized well or it will dry out very easily.
The best way would be to have someone pee on your head. Urine is a great color fixative and moisturizer.
But I am sure you do not to go that drastic. Another option is to add aspirin to your shampoo, which also helps with dandruff. And the essential oil palmarosa, which is an excellent moisturizer for the hair. For the aspirin I recommend crushing up 10 aspirin and adding the fine powder to a 16 ounce of shampoo. For the palmarosa I recommend 40-60 drops of the oil to the shampoo.
Or another option is to look online for a yucca root based shampoo. This will not only cleans the hair and help moisturize it but also kill the fungus that can cause dandruff.
Ok, I laughed so hard at that first line, I almost spit my kefir all over my computer screen.
Correct.
The pulp could be hard to get out of the hair. But you can either juice some fresh yucca root, make a water extract out of some dried powder or buy some powdered extract to add to your shampoo. |
