Hello all, I posted about this a few days ago, and some asked me if i talk to them to please post it on here.
http://www.biosignlabs.com/Home_Page.html
I talked to them about 1/2 hour. Extremely intellegent they were on the subject. What i also thought was neat, they said if i have mycotoxins, these can create Yeast infections. and unless you get rid of the mycotoxins, you will never cure the yeast. So that may explain why alot of us are not getting anywhere. We are killing the candida, but its just a bandaide because of the mycotoxins. I told them i tested positive by metametrix for yeast/fungi, but they couldnt tell me what kind. They informed me the culture for 3 weeks, and if i have something, they will be able to tell me what kind it is, what mycotoxins it is giving off, and how allergic i am to it.
She sent me an e-mail to explain more, and the codes to give ot my insurance, i copied it below. This is where i am heading next.
Any thought ?
Hello Dave,
We spoke earlier in reference to the testing we offer; below please find additional information which may be useful in understanding the value of each test, also included are the codes you would need to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
ICAT (Allergy Testing) Cost: $398.00
CPT Code: 86003
Diagnosis Code: 2011 ICD-9-CM 461.9
Should your results show positive on this test, it will designate that your body has been exposed to and is having a reaction to a pathogenic mold and will also specify the species and level of exposure for that species. The test will not verify that mold is colonizing in your body or that you have a fungal infection.
Results are received within 10 - 14 days.
FID (Fungal Identification Test) Cost $625
CPT Code: 87102
Diagnostic Code: ICD-9-CM-279.03
Fungal Identification (FID), is testing for the presence of mold / fungi within the human body. This test has become the new "Gold Standard" in the accuracy of testing for mold or fungal infection. A urine specimen is collected; the specimen is cultured and if when cultured, growth appears, will indicate a fungal infection. Fungal infections can cause very serious medical conditions and it would be in your best interest to seek treatment as soon as possible.
The process takes approximately 24 days to culture in the lab.
MYCO (Mycotoxin Testing) Cost $575
CPT Code 86003
Diagnostic Code 112.9
Mycotoxins are a secondary metabolite which is a discharge from the mold spore and these are some of the most dangerous toxins known to man or animal.
There is no safe level of Trichothecene Mycotoxins which come from the exposure to pathogenic molds. The central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord, and the lungs are primary target organs with inhalation or ingestion of Mycotoxicosis. This Mycotoxin can affect every cell in the body, but the brain, lungs, immune system, gastrointestinal system and reproductive system are especially susceptible. The health effects on the body are cumulative and exposure should be avoided at all costs.
The chemical design of Mycotoxins is to destroy other cells and their DNA, upon entering the body they can force a chemical reaction forming yeast which can ultimately become carcinogenic.
Results are received within 10 - 14 business days
The difference between the tests are basically this; the ICAT will designate what species of mold your body is having a reaction to and the level of exposure to that species, the FID will designate that not only have you been exposed and are reacting to the exposure but that the mold is colonizing in your body, which is an indication of an invasive fungal infection and the MYCO lets you know if you have elevated levels of Mycotoxins (a byproduct from mold) which are extremely harmful to ones health.
(The option to proceed to Mycobacterium testing is available but it might be beneficial to first see if a Fungal infection is present as Mycobacterium can grow along with Fungus)
MB (Mycobacterium Identification Test) Cost $725
There are many species of Mycobacterium that are synergistic with the growth of fungi. These particular types of fungi are sporating, which means just like fungi produce spores. Those spores can produce endotoxins, the counterpart to Mycotoxins produced by fungi / mold. These are the poisons which can cause disease in human beings.
As with the Fungi the Mycobacterium I.D. testing is simple, usually a urine sample is required. The sample is cultured, the bacteriological growths when present are then identified as to their species, and then the DNA of those species of bacteria detected go through the process of sequencing.
The process takes approximately 60 days to culture in the lab.
Note:
Testing positive or negative on one test has no indication of the results of the other test. You could show positive on the Allergen Test and not on the Fungal ID test or the other way or you could show positive on all tests.
If you have additional questions or if you'd like to proceed with testing, please let me know.
