I cannot find the post that recently talked about adding Glutathione to the list of supplements, I know it was in the last week or so but I wanted to post a new thread anyway to bump it up.
I have been taking Jarrow's Glutathione Reduced 500mg since Saturday. I've been taking about a gram 2-3 times a day. Yesterday, I've had the best day that I can remember for months. I was able to get my supplements down and spent a couple of hours picking up the house. This was on top of not really getting enough sleep the night before. Monday, I took my daughter to the doc I'm seeing for my thyroid to get a 'script for bentyl for her cramps and he's about an hour away. Her pediatrician wouldn't prescribe a refill because last month she needed to exceed the prescribed dose of 20mg to 60mg for pain relief and referred her to a gynecologist who'll just want to put her on birth control pills. She can't take ibuprofen because of an inherited bleeding disorder (von willebrands) so she is limited to Tylenol for pain relief and tylenol does NOTHING for cramps.
Anyway, when we finally got back in town, we stopped at her favorite mexican restaurant and I (so not thinking) had a glass of iced tea. I was up until after 10 helping her with a research paper she's working on and when I finally got to bed I slept fitfully because of that stupid iced tea. I did have to nap that morning but I still felt well enough to do some housework!! I'm sure getting my multi and the b complex helped a lot too, but I'm pretty sure the glutathione played a big role in my upswing.
So Thank you and a BIG HUG to who ever posted on it! It is as close to a magic pill, for me anyway, as you can get.

Thankyou for the testimony. When i can afford it i'll be getting some too as it was recommended to me. However I thought i'd heard it didn't do much when taken orally? I thought it was a case of you had to take the precursors to it to boost your levels internally. From hopeblossomI know, I read the articles that say glutathione is not absorbed well as a supplement, but some of it must be being absorbed, at least by my body because I was feeling pretty cr@ppy before I started taking it.
Today is only my 4th day and I am almost feeling like my old self again.
At first I didn't notice anything, but I was pleased that I didn't have any side effects. Each day I woke up feeling better than the day before though. And I keep thinking of things that need doing and then I get up and go and do them! Whereas before I would just sit and keep thinking "Yeah I really should go do that." But then I would sigh and just feel too tired. I'm also actually thinking of more things that I would like to do. And I sleep like a log all through the night.
Oh and one of the best things... My eyesight was getting to be a real concern. I do wear contacts, but even with them on, my sight was getting so blurry. I had planned on going to the doctor as soon as I could afford it to have blood test. I had a lot of worrisome thoughts, like "could it be diabetes? But it didn't feel as though my blood sugar was fluctuating. Am I going blind? Am I just getting to be severly hypothyroid? Do I need to resort to prescriptions?
Well that blurriness has gotten MUCH BETTER. I don't think I will need my prescription changed after all. And chances are if things keep improving, I won't be going to the doctor for blood tests.
I am hoping the glutathione continues to improve my health. This may be a preliminary posting since it's only my 4th day of taking it, but I am so excited to be feeling better and just want to share my experience with everyone else, especially Haveragathi since so many come to him for advice.
So I just wanted to say that it is possible for a person to notice benefits from taking the supplement glutathione and not just having to resort to foods or precursor supplements that might have unpleasant side effects. I feel the supplement is worth it and anyone feeling poorly should really consider giving it a shot.
If glutathione is our body's foundation for detoxifying then it should help with everything I would think.

Wow, I'm really happy for you, that sounds awesome, I hope it continues to work for you :) I would love to be able to do the stuff I plan to do, I stopped planning stuff a long time ago as I know I won't be able to carry it out :(
They say GABA also doesnt work when taken orally, but I definitely felt something when I took it. So often the only way to know for sure is to take it.

I also wanted to add that I did not have any menstrual cramps this time. Maybe it could help your daughter. I have a 21 yr old daughter who wanted to try it just for that.
Another thing I notice is after taking the glutathione I seem to warm up some. This is great news for me as being cold has been one of my worst symptoms.
For me the glutathione has taken priority on my budget for supplements.
It's great news to hear you are experiencing great benefits from it as well.

It is known as 'The master antioxidant' after all.
It's funny, I've heard allot of about it but am not really sure how it fits into an AF or gut health approach.
With a sensitive/stressed liver I'm curious to see what impact it may have. Wouldn't want a toxic dump situation.

This is a reply to # 1,795,400Nope...I've got high cortisol, it's better and I've got a test kit to do another one (my 4th, the last one was from Diagnostech and I think the test didn't make it to the lab in time because I had a high flat line), but mornings during the week I've gotta get the kid off to school and I CAN'T DO THAT WITHOUT COFFEE!!!!!!!! And on the weekends... I'm finally able to sleep in, so it's hard to have the incentive to do the d@mn thing on the weekend when I know I've got to do it WITHOUT COFFEE and get up early to boot!!!
