Iowaska and drug addiction

Last night in class, one of my classmates told us of participating in an experience with Iowaska over the weekend. They were led by a shaman that was visiting from Peru, someone that had a great deal of experience in this therapy.
Our teacher started discussing programs throughout the world where they are using Iowaska to help drug addiction.
My first thought about this was Peyote. But Iowaska is a different kind of animal. Similar to mind expanding drugs, but not addictive. It was intriguing, and I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this?

This is a reply to # 1,713,372Hallucinogenics generally are not addictive. Many people though, would consider iowaska a medicine rather than a drug.
I have friends who have flown to Peru a few times to experience the Iowaska ceremony. They have nothing but good things to say about it, the ceremonies, the shamans, and the overall experience in the spirit world.

Holistic Health Education, and the class is called "Paradigms of Consciousness". I too have experienced peyote in New Mexico, in a sweat lodge when I worked with the Navajo's for over a year back in the 70's. I do remember talking to a squirrel for (what I've been told) an hour or so. That squirrel was really telling me off! MoreThis is a reply to # 1,713,771Mingus, it was a real squirrel. And I suppose it was just mad at me, as squirrels get like when a cat is under a tree....however, if I was channeling something mystical, I suppose it could be one of my angry ancestors, or maybe it was a manifestation of my angst?
