Hey Guys.
I am wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can become much more sensitive to mold and mold spores once you've been exposed to them for a while. The reason I am asking is because I was living in an apartment for 2 years that was contaminated with mold before I realised what was making me sick. During that time I was very sick with all sorts of symptoms. Anyway I just finally moved to a new place the beginning of August and things have greatly improved.
Something that I am finding now however is whenever I come into work almost immediately I start getting this pounding headache and I start sneezing and cannot concentrate at all. I work 12 hour shifts and by the time my day is done I have a splitting headache and feel like I'm in a fog. A lot of my collegues are also complaining that they have a cold that doesn't go away. One girl leaves work all the time with migrains and then almost everyone sneezes all day long throughout the day. I work in a government building and they do airtesting here every 4 months or so but I don't know if they test for mold. And since there are no real guidelines to how much mold is dangerous, even if they did detect mold they might not find it a concern.
The odds for me to be living in a place that was contaminated with mold AND working in a place that is contaminated with mold I think is super highly unlikely. So I was wondering if being exposed to it over a long time, like I was in my old apartment, can make me more sensative to it when exposed to lower amounts, amounts that might not bother the average person.
Also does anyone know if a simple allergy test would should that I could be sensitive to mold.
Thanks for your help guys.
