Though I am not a religious person myself, I respect all religions and understand the meaning that they have to majority of people in the world. A religion which does not promote violence or harm unto others in my eyes, though I do not share the value, can lead others toward a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them. Faith is extremely important and I respect and understand this.
I do not, however, understand nor appreciate the judgements that many devouts demonstrate towards me. Your preaching tone, your lack of understanding or engagement with the environment you are in or lack of understanding about how to communicate your ideas effectively with those around you, have largely fallen on deaf ears and I imagine insulted more than inspired.
Religion can be so much more inclusive when it is offered, and discussed, and not thrown at us like a blanket which makes us feel bad about ourselves.
As I said, I do not have any problem with religion at all, but how dare you come onto a space that is governed towards a particular way of life, and a space where people can help one another, only to criticise in an uninformed, and ill mannered, and to be honest, completely rude way.
With respect, it is people like you who have turned me off the idea of religion. We do not throw our ideas at you without respect or compassion, so do not throw yours at us in this manner.
