So, you know the lab confirmed what I have as "common pinworm" (both big samples and tiny).
They come in different sizes. Rarely I would see a full adult (like once every 2 weeks). It would be cream coloured, 1/4 inch
long (sort of), skinnier at the 2 ends, chubbier in the middle. But mostly, what I got were these teensy things - cream coloured, the length of a 1/3 or a 1/2 grain of white Uncle Ben's rice. Those are the immature ones.. And I only found those with the kleenex, alcohol thing, 'cause that way I wasn't pick up fecal material, only catching something crawling.
You know when you ingest the eggs first they can spend up to 7 weeks reaching maturity. So it is likely you knocked out most of them but were reinfected and it just took a while for them to get up in age and population. So easy to get reinfected. Just inhale the air when you take off your underwear after one laid eggs on the buttocks. They are microscopic and airborn. I read somewhere on the net that some biologist said that you could pretty well put a piece of scotch tape on the wall of any grade school washroom cubical and come up with a few eggs.
So you gotta do cycles of meds. I don't think a vacation diet did you in, in my opinion.
Hang in there. The good news is that if you knocked out the adults before, you can do it again. And if you repeat the cycle of meds a couple of times you will pass the reinfection period. What did you take before?
