How much do we detox through our skin?
Would it speed up detoxing the more we wash our skin and hair?
You said if we don't wash our hair regularly the oil will slow up. Would that slow up detoxing also?
Thank You.

Is sodium lauryl sulfate bad or not? It's in all shampoos that foam....
"Incidentally, regarding sodium lauryl sulfate, that is an internet hoax. It can be irritating to the skin in some formulations for some people, however it DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER. There has been a lot of effort to debunk this myth, including this statement from the Toxicology journal in question:

The american cancer society and the canadian health department have both put out disclaimers regarding this internet hoax and the scientist who wrote the mis-quoted paper from the University of Georgia Medical School has expressed his embarrassment over the entire thing. He himself stated that he never did any more research on (after the early 1980s) it because it proved to be so safe!
Even Snopes has de-bunked this myth!"

The primary toxin excreted through the skin is urea, but this is not urea's primary method of elimination. Small amounts of other toxins can also excrete through the skin such as nicotine, nickel and lead.

To an extent. Plugging the pores with sebum, waxes or polymers can inhibit proper excretion of compounds through the skin. Problem is that most people use conditioners, which contain waxes and polymers. And after bathing they often use lotions with waxes and polymers.

Not that easy. See above.
don't we also excrete salt through our skin alot? as evidenced by the salty feeling after crying alot?
Yes, salt is also excreted in sweat, although it is not necessarily thought of as a toxin. Same reason I did not mention the water excreted in sweat.
Salt is also excreted in tears, but that is a separate issue from sweat since they involve excretion from different glands.
