Tiki,
One of us studied biochemistry, biology , organic chemistry etc at UC Berkeley and then went to med school and it wasnt you.Does author Barbara Erenreich (Nickeled and Dimed etc), who happens to have a PhD in biology, also have no qualifications to speak out about chemotherapy? She was diagnosed with
Breast Cancer and did extensive research on chemotherapy and decided that she would have the same chance of being alive in ten years whether or not she got chemo. Interestingly enough , she still chose to get treated for her cancer.
Perhaps you can tell us what treatment Obama's mother should have had so that she would be alive today. It is likely that women treated for ovarian cancer are less likely to be alive in ten years because they can die of heart attacks and other side effects of chemotherapy in which case the statistics will imply they survived their cancer and died of seemingly unrelated causes.
