Jena
Hi there
I had a similar problem to yours (I have different colouring though - I'm very fair). I had very dark circles which weren't helped much by a good night's sleep. Over the past year I've gradually made a lot of dietry changes due to a chronic illness I have (not because of the circles). I had a
food sensitivity test and cut out all the foods which came up positive (I may reintroduce the less significantly positive ones after a couple of years of being healthy). I've also developed a more healthy way of eating: no/very little dairy, only occasional red meat, no refined sugar/flour, no alcohol at present, no caffeine, mostly bottled water, only organic food (occasional exception when out etc), and a few other changes. I didn't do this all at once and wouldn't be surpised if I have a few more lapses in my lifestyle before it truly becomes habit - it's been a gradual move towards an aim I know to be good for me.
Anyway, the point is (yep I am getting to it), I no longer have dark circles. I didn't even realise they were going until someone pointed it out to me. After that I couldn't stop watching them, and now they're gone. I'm still prone to getting a bit of darkness there after a bad night's sleep, but then it's only really been a few weeks since they went completely.
I'd highly recommend trying something similar before you consider any cosmetic treatment. If you find it doesn't help you'll have lost nothing and will probably feel a lot healthier.
One thing. It sounds like a lot to try and change, but over time it's quite easy. I thought I'd miss the things I've cut out but I tell myself I can have them if I want to - I just don't want to, because I'd rather have a healthy body! Anyway, we don't *need* all that stuff to be happy - people were happy enough before chocolate bars were invented.
I'm also really into
juicing now - it's great for someone like me who's been starving their body of the proper nutrients for so long.
I'm not suggesting your diet is bad - you might be incredibly healthy for all I know! But definitely consider allergy/sensitivity and toxicity (the two often go hand in hand) as possible causes of your problem.
Hope this helps some
Good luck
