I did a reduced version of a castor oil cleanse this morning and so far so good but after reading a little more, I have some doubts about the safety of the oil I am using. The castor oil I drank is the "Organic Castor Oil - Hexane Free & Certified" from the Heritage Store at
http://shop.caycecures.com/organiccastoroil.aspx
Is this castor oil fine for internal uses? The Heritage Store hasn't been too direct on this. They just say that
Edgar Cayce didn't recommend castor oil for internal use, which I know about but doesn't answer the question. I think this castor oil is cold pressed. I read some posts and articles with people saying about how some castor oils may contain some small amounts of ricin/ricinine which is poisonous, but I don't know what to think about these claims because it was common for mothers to give their kids castor oil for ingestion back in the day. Would the method of pressing the oil have an effect on the chance of ricin being in it? Cold pressed or "hot" pressed being safer for internal use?--thank you!
