Hi everyone,
I felt I should post here about what has given me some relief from very aggravating PCOS symptoms. I'm a long-time lurker and very infrequent poster on Cure-Zone - but I have learned a lot from this site...
I'm a bit of an atypical PCOSer - I'm not overweight - I'm about 5'2" and weigh 110 lbs... I'm very petite and fair with light blond hair and small bones... and yet I still have quite excessive facial hair growth (quite a beard and mustache of dark-brown, very thick hair), I have multiple cysts on both ovaries, I have very irregular, anovulatory periods, breakthrough bleeding or hemorraging and really really bad mood swings/PMS type symptoms... I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13 or 14, and I'm 38 now. I'm probably still skinny because I eat extremely low-carb (no wheat, essentially).
I have tried many many supplements, birth-control pills, metformin/glucophage, so-called insulin stabilizers and "miracle cures." You name it, I've tried it. But interestingly, things got a lot better for me when I stopped trying to put stuff into my body and started working on getting things OUT.
I used to poo only about twice a week and thought this was totally normal... uh wrong. When I started doing enemas (especially ACV enemas), colonics,
Colon Cleanses etc., and focused on getting myself to go at least once a day, my PCOS symptoms got a lot better. My bleeding stopped being so out of control, my ovarian pain was reduced greatly, my mood cleared up, my
Sugar tolerance improved (occasionally I cheat with chocolate, so I know how I feel after I eat sugar), and I swear, I felt like even the facial hair was not growing in as quickly.
If you think about it - it makes a certain amount of sense. Ovaries are really close to the large intestine - in fact, everything's really close and packed in pretty tight in there. It can't be good for them to sit around next to a bunch of old waste. Also, keeping things moving and getting out of your system improves your digestion which is bound to impact your insulin sensitivity. And it is true that the liver metabolizes estrogen and gets it out of your body - if the liver is clogged and having a hard time - you will have hormonal imbalance issues. Once digestion clears up the liver might not be so stressed...
So what I do is try to keep things moving - eat low carb (no
Sugar (aside from the occasional cheat), NO
Aspartame (that stuff is pure evil), no wheat), plenty of veggies and protein, take enemas, colonics, colon cleansers, yeast fighters (I think systemic yeast has a lot to do with PCOS - but I can't prove it), probiotics,
Liver Flushes and the occasional cup of coffee if I'm really constipated one day.
This has all helped - it hasn't cured me, but I hope if I keep it up I might continue to improve. Just my two cents - but if anyone has a quick miracle cure for PCOS, I'm all ears.
Best to everyone,
AJL
