Raw honey is supposed to help heal ulcers. You can also try a wet clay poultice. Use a
Green Clay that you find at the health food store. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is a good brand. Scoop some in a separate container 1/2 cup (a tablespoon or so) and fill add water to cover. Put top on and let it hydrate. Don't shake. If it hasn't completely hydrated, add a little more water. You want it wet but not watery. When it gets to be like thick wet mud, apply to the wound. Top with some plastic wrap and tape down with bandage. Try to keep it on for a few hours, overnight if possible.
Another option is get a tube of usp lanolin. You can find it in the baby isle in drugstores. It helps with stretch marks. Get vitamin E oil natural not synthetic. Pick up a tube of
Antibiotic ointment. Get some raw honey. Mix the lanolin, vitamin E oil, honey and antiobitic ointment. If you have some oregano oil put a drop or two in as well -- be careful, it's very strong and too much can burn. Mix all that up into a thick paste. Add more lanolin and honey to thicken it if necessary. Apply to wound and bandage if possible, otherwise leave uncovered.. It should feel soothing and help the ulcer heal. I've used the above recipe on 3 week old kittens with diarrhea and raw hineys. It coated the raw inflamed tissues and helped protect it. Once we got the diarrhea under control, the ulcers healed quickly. I think it took about 3 days to notice healing. It worked really quickly. I applied the ointment after every meal and hiney wipe (to stimulate bm and urination) about 3-4 times a day. At first the poor kitten's rear end looked like raw meat. The ointment, because of the lanolin is thick and sticky it blocks out air really well. This stuff worked so well, I keep a small batch of that stuff on hand for boo boos and dry skin.
