I want to an extended fast really badly, but I just don't see how thats gonna work out. Im 17 and live with my parents still, so I eat dinner with them every day. I can't tell them about the fast because they'd think i'm starving myself or something. I've done a few 2 or 3 day fasts and just made up excuses like "im sick" or "i'm not hungry i'll eat later", but I can't keep that up for 10-20 days. Can you guys think of any ways I can get around having to eat.
The worst part is even if i managed to get up to like 7 or 8 days, i'd probably slip up that one time and be forced to have some processed meal for dinner, which would be a dangerous way to break the fast.Google Advertisement

Since this whole thing would have to be done surreptitiously,
maybe it would be better to wait till you could do a Water Fast openly and with pride.
Of course you realize what your asking is advice on how to be a successful "sneak", and it seems that not too many are stepping up to the plate to offer up advice of that nature.
At times in life there can be value in trust and honesty.

Truth is good. Being of the "beatles" generation I was once pulled up in the school playground (age around 10) by the headmaster for having "long 'air". Myself and a few others were lectured and told to get haircuts. Anyway, I pointed out that the length of my hair had nothing to do with the capacity of my brain, I was doing well at school (you can't beat 1st in class exams in every exam at that school) and hair was merely a fashion thing and cave men had long hair, now it just happens to be short fashion and changing back to long for the younger generation. I was allowed to keep my long hair.
You can't hide fasting, you can't hide long hair. So fballer, if you want to fast, learn to win your arguments with reason. Good practice for later life too.

For what do purpose you want to do an extended water fast? If it is for cleansing/detox, then I suggest doing a vegetable/fruit juice fast. Even though it may not be as "powerful" as a water fast, it will help you achieve considerable detox. I cannot see why your parents would object to a juice fast, as long as you explain why you are doing it and that you will get plenty of nutrients from the juices -- probably more than from regular food.
