I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and I'm still in alot of pain. I spent a night in the emergancy room last night, I could hardly walk. They ran some tests on me and found that everything was normal. They did a Hepto-billary scan because they thought maybe I had a bile duct leak, thank God that wasn't the case. I've talkin to alot of people who have had this surgery and there back to work in three days to a week. I've also read alot of articles and it says nothing about extreme pain two weeks after surgery. I'm only 19 years old I should of been able to bounce back as quickly as people have told me. I hope someone can tell me why I'm still in so much pain. The Doctor also told me I'm in pain because I'm "so thin". That just does not seem right to me. I have 3 little incisions, there shouldn't be alot of pain.

I am so sorry about your gallbladder removal and you are so young to have to go through something like that. Why so drastic a surgery on someone as young as you?
The only thing I can think of to tell you is maybe the Dr. failed to tell you that Gallstones are formed in your liver. Did he tell you that?
Anyway, you probably still have stones and they need to come out. What's he gonna do---remove your liver??? I don't think so. But, you can easily flush out those stones. Check out Dr. Clark on the homepage and she will explain in detail how to flush those stones.
Now, when is a good time for you to do this since you just had surgery? I don't know. Someone smarter than me may be able to answer that question.
Are you running a fever? The pain could be a result of an infection as a result from the surgery.
You might try a coffee enema. That might help.

When I found out that it was my gallbladder that was bothering me, I asked "why whats wrong with it?" It wasn't emptying like it should, thats why my stomach would get upset after I ate. My surgeon didn't say anything about Gallstones after my orperation, and hopefully thats not the case. I went in for a post-op check up and thats when he thought I had a bile leak. Then I went for all of those tests. They said everything was normal, my WBC's were at a good level and they took urine (they thought something was wrong with my kidney's)but that was normal also. I was up all night because I can't lay down because of the pain. My Grandma had hers out when she was in her 70's and she was up and moving good the day after surgery. The pains not constant, It's normally after I eat. Sharp pains on my upper right side into my back. It almost seems like a gallbladder attack, but I've never had one before and why would I have on after my gallbladder was removed? I'm missing so much school and work, it just makes me mad that everyone told me this surgery was a breeze. My upset stomach's gone but now I have this horrible pain. I like many on this site think your doctor is an idiot. Please read the forums on this site. When you feel you can do a liver cleanse, I would do it. You will have lots of stones come out. Doctors claim that there are no stones in the liver, that they come from the gall bladder. Well, if you get stones out after a Liver Flush (which is also a gall bladder flush) then this proves that doctors don't know what they are talking about because you don't have a gall bladder. you are responsible for your own health, but if I was you I would not let the doctor take anymore of my body parts out. Hi Katie, I had my first GB attack when I was about 25 I think (I'm 33 now). I'm also thin. I think my problem is a digestive one, that I don't digest fats, they just seem to go straight through. so my Liver/GB is sluggish and the stones built up. This led to hormone imbalance. I agree with the others that you need to do a flush. You have classic symptoms of a stone stuck somewhere - probably a biliary duct. Maybe start parasite cleansing and when you feel ready do a flush a la Hulda Clark .

I am also 19 years old and know just how you feel.I had my gall bladder removed a few weeks ago the reason for this surgery is that i had gall stones.A few days after the opperation i bagan experiencing excruciating pain in my right side and back like the pain before surgery and like you could hardly walk.I returned to hospital and i was admitted for a few days, they told me it was probably constipation!After doing various tests they concluded that the pain was probably just soreness after the op and sent me home.A week later i bagan getting this severe pain again and went to my local doctor who agreed that it was probably just soreness and gave me stronger painkillers.The pain went away for over a week however the last few days i have been in agony with the same pain.It lasts up to twenty minutes and when i breathe in, the pain is very sharp.I am quite worried however have reservations about returning to my doctor in case i sound paranoid!Like you i am only 19 and feel like i should be back to my old self.Has anybody got any ideas please ?
