I think that the recipe should be whole heartily adhered to , even for those trying to reduce. 2+2 tablespoons lemon/maple-mixed together. I truly believe that the originator had a proved method and that for safety sake should be stuck to .
Too much...I don't thinks so...your body will tell you when it's enough. Figure that 12 lemonades total only 1200 calories.
I always shoot for 10-12 and have drank as many as 16 when hiking or other vigorous exercise or fun times and usually drink 2 quarts
of spring water , one after the swf purge,to get all the salt out, and one at about 9pm, a few hours before my tea.
I also have a cup of water a half hour before the swf, any shorter period of time , I believe , dilutes the swf too much.
