i dont know exactly what to say about the mirena.
it seems that it just hits you all of a sudden.
i was fine til i tried to have it removed and the doctor caused an infection.
i wanted it removed cause i wanted another baby and i kept having nightmares that something was trying to burst out of my belly. so i really didnt sleep at all.
maybe all of a sudden the fake hormones change us, i dont know. i guess it all depends on your natural hormone balance when it can affect you.

Hi, sorry to hear the Mirena is all of a sudden causing problems for you. I didn't have any of the pregnancy symptoms, but experienced other horrible side effects. I just wanted to let you know that other women have developed side effects after having Mirena for a long time, a year, two years, it just varies. I had it for 7 months and noticed elevated anxiety right away. But, my other side effects didn't come on until after having it for 6 months. It's different for everybody. If I were you, I would discuss it with your doctor. More than likely, they will tell you there is no way Mirena is causing what you're experiencing. Well, that's total crap. So, you will probably have to decide for yourself whether or not Mirena is worth the trouble it's causing you. Also, keep in mind that you could develop more side effects the longer you have it in. I've been around these boards for months. Plenty of women get symptoms at around a year or two-- some even after a full 5 years, when they get a second IUD inserted!

I think what happens is, most women after a couple years don't think to blame symptoms on the IUD because it has been there so long, and probably blame them on whatever is new in their life-- like another new drug or just getting older.

Anyway, I'm very sorry. Make sure your doctor can get an ultrasound to check where the IUD is and take it out. It could have moved but most likely the strings just went up. I hope that's all it is! But you need to know right away
