 treatments.
 - A resource covering practitioners of alternative protocols and full of
useful information about vitmains, minerals and various therapies

Beating Cancer With Nutrition, by Patrick Quillin
 - This book is great because it provides nutrition and supplement
information
as it relates to cancer. Because of it I am healthier now than I have been in
at least 20 years. I read it when I was half way through chemotherapy. I had
a very bad experience with my 2nd treatment and someone recommended this
book. Following its recommendations made me feel so much better that the rest
of the treatments were much easier and I felt great.
 - Lots of sensible advice about how to eat wisely to stay healthy

The Breast Cancer Companion, by Kathy Latour
 - Very good for an over view of people dealing with BC, the different stages
and problems. It also touched on a subject not mention in the above two
books, Infections. Which I had 3 of them and it was lympedema.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 --

The Breast Cancer Prevention Diet: The Powerful Foods, Supplements, and Drugs
That Can Save Your Life, by Robert Burns Arnot
 - This book gives good advice on foods to help with breast cancer. It is
 informative in many ways.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 --

The Breast Cancer Survival Manual : A Step-By-Step Guide for the Woman With
Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer , by John Link
 - Excellent for the newly diagnosed patient, family and friends. Gives the
whole scoop and answers many questions patients are afraid to ask or do not
 think to ask their doctors.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 --

Cancer : Increasing Your Odds for Survival : A Resource Guide for Integrating
Mainstream, Alternative and Complementary Therapies, by David Bognar, David
 Bonar, Walter Cronkite
 - What I liked about this book was that it had LOTS of detailed resources,
 many of them online.

Cancer S. O. S. : Strategies of Survival, by Rose Welsh
 - This book was filled with real life situations and recommendations with an
easy to read format!! It was informative to specific situations and gave many
suggestions on how to deal with Cancer as a whole. It should be read by any
woman with cancer and all members of her family! The humor that the authors
instilled in their writing gave the book a lighter side that is needed when
dealing with such a serious life changing ordeal.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 --

Choices in Healing : Integrating the Best of Conventional and Complementary
Approaches to Cancer, by Michael Lerner
 - Lerner's combination of compassionate wisdom, common sense, and objective
review blend to produce a wealth of support fo those seeking options in
 managing their cancers.

Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book , by Susan M. Love
 - It gives the pertinant info about what to expect from having bc. Wish I had
had it before my surg. and treatments but it was still informative and helped
 me better understand the disease!!
 - The author is truthful regarding surgery, chemo, radiation and the impacts
they have on people. She is also honest regarding the miserable progress
being made in curing breast cancer, acknowledging we are not doing any better
than any time over the past 50 years in reducing the death rate due to
 metastatic breast cancer.

 - It is the most informative book out there on the breast and breast cancer
from a-z for the newly diagnosed as well as those who have already finished
treatment. You won't get this much information anywhere else.

 - Was my bible going thru BC

 - It tells you all you need to know about breast cancer. This includes
treatment, staging, studies, and more. And it does this in plain language
without sugar coating but without a lot of negativism also.

 - The bible for breast cancer. Explains all the basic stuff you need to know
 after a diagnosis

Fighting Chance : Journeys Through Childhood Cancer, by Harry Connolly, Tom
 Clancy, Curt I. Civin
 - This book of over 200 black & white photos is the book I wish I had had
when my son was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at age 2
1/2. Photographer/author Harry Connolly followed three young cancer patients
at Hopkins, in and out of the hospital and after their successful battles.
While still more work needs to be done to cure every form of childhood
cancer, the photos clearly convey the hopeful message that that 7 out of
every 10 kids with cancer have a Fighting Chance. I recommend this book for
kids with cancer as well as their parents, siblings, teachers, friends, and
 caregivers.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer : A Survivor's Guide for When Treatment Ends and
the Rest of Your Life Begins, by Marisa C. Weiss
 - New up to date information and dealing with after treatment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Living in the Postmastectomy Body : Learning to Live in and Love Your Body
 Again, by Rebecca Zuckweiler
 - I loved this book. It helped me to understand why I was feeling certain
ways. I certainly think this book is worth reading.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Prostate Cancer Answer Book : An Unbiased Guide to Treatment Choices, by
 Marion E. Morra, Eve Potts
 - Takes each alternative treatment, poses questions we should ask doctors
(and ourselves) and provides answers. Very clear and good book.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 --

 1999 Physicians' Desk Reference
 - Complete scientific information (what there is of it) on all drugs
prescribed in the United States today. No other source will give patients
such complete information, expecially not manufacturer's public relations
 pap.
