I would like to pause and comment on the improvement that I have made. It is most clear at the lower legs where skin which was once stubborn, dull and shiny is hard at work renewing and revealing smooth skin below. This is an achievement for me. A lot of people take it for granted that they can wear shorts and flaunt their legs. It has been a number of years since I have stopped wearing shorts and stuck to jeans and long skirts. So nothing will make me happier than to don on a pair of short shorts at over a bikini at the end of my fast. Nonetheless, I would just like to take a moment to remind myself I gotta hang in there and exercise patience because progress is being made. There is still a long way to go.
To be beautiful again is all about being healthy, healthy and healthy. Sleep more, nap whenever the body is tired (isn't it amazing the body always know what it need better than we "think" we do?) , drink lots of water, regular light to moderate exercise, laugh and smile more, think happy thoughts and visualize the end-point. And achieving a goal is all about DRIVE--how much do you want this? Because like all choices in life, there are often two opposing directions: either you move to a new place (progress) or you return to your previous place (regress). I really really really want to be healthy and beautiful--fair glowing smooth skin. Man that is PRICELESS.
I watched 2 boys play soccer at the park today during my stroll. My boyfriend loves soccer and I was thinking the perfect gift for his son would be to buy a soccer ball with dad's signature on it. You know, I realize it is true you can never really know a person. I was thinking about my bf and the question my doc asked me, "How well do you know him?" For starters, my boyfriend is Turkish, 18 years my senior, graduated in linguistics, studied theatre and drama, loves poetry, works as a guide, divorced with a young son, a huge soccer-fan, loves good and tries albeit strange (ie. testicles!!!) food, cooks very well, lives in Istanbul and spends summer at his summer house in Canakkale, speaks English as a first language, has met people from all over the world, wanted to be a professional soccer player or actor, interested in entrepeuneurship and adores cats. He is a very family-oriented, affectionate, warm, fun-loving, funny, kind, well-mannered, optimistic, intelligent and social man. He hates farewells and has difficulty saying "sorry" but replaces it with "I love you" or the like when he makes me annoyed. He thinks Shakira is sexy. He is an ass-guy. His dream destination is Brazil. He bought a new car recently, with the purpose of me in mind because I love traveling. He is very excited to see me and plans to explore the country with me this summer. Yes, all this I know. But put all the elements together and it becomes quite hard to concoct how complex and handsome he it, which leaves me wondering what else is he?
It is truly amazing how fascinating every human being is, only if all of us take the time to appreciate.
