In the days since the MC... by willow007 .....

Three weeks later

It has been about three weeks since I completed my first Master Cleanse. I made it ten days, without much education on the subject other than reading what I've come to term "The Yellow Book". I discovered Curezone on Day 4 and quickly became overwhelmed with the information regarding parasite and liver cleanses that I should have been doing as well. I decided attempting a ten day MC was off to a good enough start. You can read my first post for the entire diary of my first cleanse.

I wanted to give an update since leaving the diet. It has taken me about two weeks to get my eating under control. Note: I'm 5'5", 117 lbs, 28 yrs old. I'm not underweight, far from overweight, and I assure you: I don't have an eating disorder or skewed body image. I love my body and certainly love to eat!! I think my mind went into starvation mode. I did great coming off the cleanse on the yummy soup, but after the soup was over I hit the bad stuff: sugar, bread, cheese etc. Not only the bad stuff, but I couldn't stop when I was full like I normally can. Oh no, I had to gorge until I felt like my stomach might rupture. I had hoped to come off the diet and go onto a much better diet for myself, such as no wheat, no sugar, limited bread (organic goes without saying, of course!). Now that I'm into week 3 after the diet I've managed to get it under control again.

I got into natural and healthy nutrition about 1.5 years ago after seeing a naturopath for digestion problems. Since then I've been eating by my blood type and have enjoyed a pretty successful digestive life. I pretty much obeyed the 80:20 rule. (Now I see its 90:10, go figure.) That is until I vacationed in Wyoming with a Chef and jumped into a rich diet full of bad for me stuff for three weeks. Upon returning home to NC I found my old 80% healthy diet wasn't enough to get me back on track. Thus the Master Cleanse.

In addition to getting my digestion back under control, I mainly did the MC due to "brain fog". I definitely found the mental cleansing to be the most difficult. Mood swings lasted about four days, but the mental craving food was unbearable! I had originally planned to cleanse for 14 days, but stopped at ten days. And now I'm right back into the brain fog and feeling fatiqued as before... I'm contemplating doing the MC again...

Today I found this person's very informative and inspirational blog: http://curezone.com/blogs/f.asp?f=817

It inspired me to do the cleanse again, and this time include the parasite and liver detox (and evidently to create this blog as well!). Despite the insatiable cravings for food, I thoroughly enjoyed the MC and have recommended it to many people, one of which is doing it now. =) I believe I will wait until early next year for my next cleanse. I would like to complete it on the spring equinox. Or I may wait until next summer due to a busy class schedule.

I think now that I know more of what to expect and have had time to assimilate all the parasite and liver information I am much better prepared for my next fast. I have also realized how very important it is to have the people in your household be knowledgable and supportive about what you are doing.

To all other nutritionally enlighten brothers and sisters: I applaude us!!!
