J-Day minus 1 !

I made some Vege broth tonight and I made a special trip to the market for fresh produce. I picked up 3kg of carrots, a couple of good size bundles of spinach, parsley, celery, a cucumber and two big bags of organic apples.

I've done several 5 - 10 day juice fasts / cleanses before and I want to do at least 10 days this time. It's getting close to the start of Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere (we've had daffodils out on our lawn for 4 weeks now!) and the time feels right.

So, I intend to drink fresh juice (I'm an at home Mother so I can juice as I go) and lots of water. I'll attempt salt water flushes every day...or every 2 days if I find them too hard.
I'm currently suffering with a tooth abscess....my first ever "serious" dental issue. At least it feels serious. Serious pain. Ouch! Some lymph nodes at the back of my neck are really swollen as my body's trying to deal with the infection I guess.
...I really want to avoid a root canal....read BAD things about them. When the pain is bad enough an extraction sounds like a fabulous idea, then the paracetamol kicks in and I favour trying to keep the tooth. The past 4 days I've eaten only raw fresh cashew nuts (I read they can help kill the bacteria responsible in many dental abscess cases) whole cloves of garlic...hmm....not my favourite snack I have to say plus a few pieces of fruit and some raw vegetables. Also taking olive leaf extract as an antibacterial...I'll keep taking that a few days into my juice fast.
I planned to do this fast before I developed the problem with my tooth. Still not sure where I'm going with the tooth but the pain has been better the last two days and I'm hopeful I may have knocked the infection. The fast can only help....I can't wait until I switch into healing mode. Very excited to be doing this for myself.

I have limited time to Blog but I will try to update on my progress and struggles daily even if it's just brief.
