I'm not going to do the extremely low fruit plan that I was thinking about yesterday. Still must keep fruit to a reasonable level though, but not so low as yesterday. Still thinking about what do change next in this diet.
Here are things I might incorporate as the next stage:
Eliminating true coffee: Coffee in any great quantity makes my neck glands feel puffy, and I've heard that it increases intestinal mucoid placque. But past attempts at substituting either for the caffeine (using caffinated tea) or for the taste (using water process decaf coffee) have failed me. Tea usually does not taste one bit good to me, with rare exception days. And conversely, tasting the nice taste of decaf coffee does not substitute for the lift of caffeine. So here's a compromise: there are coffee substitutes that have a taste that just BARELY can satisfy my taste requirement (better than tea does) without tasting as good as decaf coffee (decaf coffee tempts me to reach for true coffee). Drinking those coffee substitues may wean me off of the taste of real coffee, over time - and for now I'll try adding a small bit of caffeine powder, to get the lift I need. Then try over time to very gradually reduce.
Eliminating corn: I think corn is one of the allergens that, for me, gives me the painful joints and other symptoms that then cause me to reach for sweets to feel better. It's been a long time since I was on corn for awhile and then got off it all at once, to remember what the effects were. This may be a good time to get rid of it again to see how I feel. It'll be hard because corn syrup and food starch made from corn is in many processed foods. If I can keep a modest amount of fruit in my diet, I may be able to eliminate corn without too much misery.
Eliminating butter to replace with ghee: butter, although I never tested positive for it as far as allergies unlike other diary, does have small amounts of lactose and casien. But melting it and sieving out the solids makes ghee, which is only the butterfat with none of the lactose and casein bits. I made a bunch of ghee last night, maybe I'll start eliminating butter and only use ghee, along with my other healthy fats.
