Homeopathy

What does the 30C dilution really mean? It means 1 part in 1 X 1030 parts

Analogies :
3 micrograms diluted by planet Earth
20 g diluted by the Sun
1cm out of 100 Billion Light Years

Hahnemann's ideas were influenced by the contemporary mis-conceptions of physics and magnetism, his misunderstanding of the science, and many other unsubstantiated assumptions. Believed matter was infinitely divisible

The idea that some magical energy is passed on to the solutions by shaking or hitting is nonsensical.

The assumption that water (when used as the solvent) holds the “information” of the remedy has many flaws.

Questions to consider:

How does the shaking of water by rivers and oceans affect the “potentization”?
Why doesn't the shaking that occurs during transport affect the potency?
Does water “remember” being a cat? Or cockroach?
Why doesn't the water cure “cockroach-ness”?
If I jump does my “water” remember and store my essence? When I die and my water is recycled to the earth, how will this affect any “cure” used with my water?

The theory of Vital force was disproven by Pasteur

Recently, homeopaths have misapplied the concepts of quantum physics and chemistry as a way to explain the mechanisms behind their claims. Scientific arguments for homeopathy are typically, incorrect, obsolete or over-simplified.

Hahnemann lived at a time when the state of medical knowledge was at its infancy, and when often times no action was safer that the standard treatments.

He misinterpreted his placebos for actual cures when compared to the dangerous cures of the time. In fact homeopathy was his way of doing “nothing”, which on occasion showed far better results than the treatments that were available. Hahnemann confused these results as proof of the efficacy of his homeopathic preparations.

Why do People believe in quackery? And more importantly, how do we change their minds?

Since they did not come to their belief by reason, then they cannot use reason as a tool to help them understand the flaws in their beliefs.

non-critical thinkers accept their believes without any need for real supporting evidence

“if they let go of their current ideas, even just to do fair inquiry, they are left without any basis for understanding, which is very, very scary, since it is internally understood as “I have no defenses against the threats of the world.” Given that fearful things trigger avoidance behavior (and rightly so), it is not surprising to see a rebound effect where the current thinking is actually reinforced by confrontational critical thinking. “
