My first Fast

I started my juice fast 6 days ago.  In a couple of hours will mark the 6th day actually.  I want to start off with my first day though.  It was horrible, I was hungry as soon as I woke up.  I drank a lot the night before and have a huge steak dinner before bed.  I am an alcoholic but have always been conscious about my health.  I just turned 31 years old on May 29th and I want a new life!  Have wanted one ever since I started drinking at age 15!  I started at 214 lbs (overweight by at least 30 lbs).

Now for day one, I woke up and got my juicer out.  I had it over a year and used it maybe 5 times.  I got all the vegetables I had and juiced them.  After drinking it I still felt like my stomach needed food.  Over 3 hours later my stomach was churning and I felt like I needed food or I was going to die (I am definitely a breakfast person).  I then drank lemon and water mixture and again still felt like my stomach was needing food badly.  I ended up juicing 2 more times that day and every time I did, it was about 2-3 hours later that I was getting so hungry that I almost ate several times.  I wanted anything, just a cracker I thought wouldn't even help.  That is when I decided to start reading about fasting and learned that you really don't need anything solid at all.  I again drank a lemon and water before bed.  I fought that day and I won!  The next morning I was terribly hungry for breakfast and made a fruit drink right away.  It worked!  I wasn't hungry and that 2nd day was about 1/2 as hard as the first one was.  I again made it!  I was shocked when I weight myself this second morning.  I was at 207 lbs!  I know it was all water weight, but I felt so much lighter already!

In days 3 - 5 I had cravings in intervals, I knew when my body really wanted food and I satisfied it by drinking veggie juice and alternating it with the lemon mixture I had before.  This day however I started with cayenne pepper in it and could tell it got my metabolism going.  I fixed 2 old computers that were sitting in my room for over 8 months that I was always too lazy to fix.  I again felt incredible compared to eating lots of food before.  I was also so much lighter feeling.  At the end of this I will post each days weight loss.

Day 6 (today) - I am not really getting too hungry, I am only juicing 2 times a day and I do fruits in the morning and veggies in evening.  I feel better than I ever could have imagined.  This juice fast will be a part of the rest of my life!  I did something horrible last night though.  I went to TGIFridays and had a salad, a bloody mary, and about 3 beers.  Later I continued to drink at least 10 more beers.  I am a very heavy drinker!  I woke up the next day and felt great though?  I guess where I been cleaning myself out the toxins from the alcohol didn't bother me so much?  Anyways, I did my juicing today and again have felt like a new person!  I got to get away from alcohol.  This last week I went almost 5 days without drinking (I haven't done that in many years).  I know I can do it and already the fast is helping me with it.

This concludes days 1-6 and I'm glad I started this blog.  My total weight loss went like this so far...

May 30th - 214 lbs / 31st - 207 lbs / 1st - 206 lbs / 2nd - 206l bs / 3rd - 203 lbs / 4th - 200 lbs

I lost 14 lbs in 5 days so on the beginning of the 6th day I was 200 lbs.  I feel amazingly great.  Here is a picture I took while ago.  I am about 203 lbs here ....

I really need to get that gut down!  I know I will and even though I really did this fast for cleansing purposes, I am thankful if I loose weight also.  I will now start a daily post and hope that I can have better results in my pictures!  Good luck to everyone else that is just starting out.  I think I will try for at least 20 days with this flush.
