Day 4 of my Incredible Journey by countrygirl_roni .....

Day 4 of my MC, Down 8 pounds, Long road ahead

Date:   2/23/2006 8:30:03 AM ( 18 y ago)

Well, I started a blog 85 days ago, and lasted 2 days. This time I want to keep posting. Here's a bit of background...

I'm a 37 year old woman, happily married w/2 children, who has numerous health issues. Most of them come from, or are made worse by, my weight. My highest weight was a little over 250 lbs. A few years ago I lost 38 pounds and maintained the loss for a long time. I have allowed it to come back, and last week I was back up to 243 lbs again. NOT good. I have chronic low back pain from a birth defect, and also have moderate to severe joint pain (all over). Especially bad are shoulders (arthritis), wrists, fingers, knees (another birth defect), and ankles. I have been to so many doctors, and they treat each pain as unrelated. I know there is something contributing to my joint inflammation besides weight because it has always been an issue. From reading Dr. Norman Walker's books, and other raw food and natural hygeine type books, I have decided that juicing, cleansing, raw food, etc. is the path I need to take to regain my health.

So, I am "fasting" with the Master Cleanse (MC), Juice Fasting, and Liver Flushing off and on for a few months. In between, I will be eating a high-raw, all "healthy" diet.

Today is Day 4 of my MC. The first 2 days were VERY tough. I had severe headaches and couldn't get out of the bed for most of day 2. I kept drinking water and tea, and tried to flush the toxins out. Day 3 was great! Woke up and headache was gone, appetite for lemonade returned. The first 2 days I lost 6.5 pounds. Day 3 saw another 1.5 pounds gone. This morning, I was down another pound, to 235.

I do want to lose a lot of weight, but more importantly, I want to lose inches and regain my health. I stopped taking all of my prescription meds, and will have my thyroid retested when I feel like I need it again, or at my annual checkup. I stopped it for 3 months 2 years ago, and my prescription was cut in half when I resumed. I'm hoping this time I will be told I no longer need it. Each time I lose weight, the pain levels drop considerably. Don't know why I let myself "go" when I know it results in more pain, physically and emotionally. This time, I'm making myself accountable to others in the hopes that I can stay committed. I know I'm the only one who can walk this journey for me, and I'm GOING to do it!

I took my starting measurements and will be recording them for myself weekly. Just as a start, I have already lost 1/2" from my waist! Incredible.

Anyways, that's a bit about me and my journey. I will try to post daily.
