Energy costs could be much less ; tyranny of elites through fossil fuels. It is the birthright of our era to produce our own power.

Today more than yesterday, this year more than last year, it is becoming obvious that we are living in another era where there is tyranny over the masses by a small portion of the population. The tyranny of elites over commoners has been the hallmark of civilisations for 5000 years or more, as far back a recorded history can see. It is a basic tactic for any people who have "more to lose than most people do". It is almost natural to have this situation arise, it is the standard set by elites over the ages.
We are living in tyranny. We are being denied the benefits that are 'the birthrights of our era' - things like electric cars would normally exist in a technological era. Those birthrights are being deferred in favour of the demands of the elites. They are insisting that fossil fuels are to be used for our primary energy supply.
"We should have electric cars by now" - Mark Madriga said, and the Dalia Lama said.
"There should be clean water for even the poorest areas of the world by now".
"This pollution is not necessary anymore, we have solutions that are being ignored"
And a lot more "shoulds". The majority of us want those things to come to be, and we are willing to have a little less for ourselves if those things could be implemented. Instead, we are being asked to do with less anyways - incomes are going DOWN for the first time since the beginning of the industrial era, save the great depression of the 1930's. 90% of the weorld's wealth is in the hands of just 5% of the population, and those 'overly-wealthy' ones are the source of the tyranny.
If we are going to become poor, we at least want something in return. Instead, the excess money that used to be our 'incomes-above-inflation' is going to the "allready wealthy", and not to these humane practises like clean water and less pollution and a carbon neutral world in the face of global warming. We are making a sacrifice for the benefit of those with too much money to spend in 100 lifetimes, so they can hold onto their power. Money in vast quantities, and the monopoly of fossil fuels as our primary source of energy, are keeping them on top, as our tyrannists.
Deflecting the awareness of the public from the truth about the tyranny we live in is a crucial element in keeping the elites in their position as tyranists. To do this, they are relying on the same tactics as tyrannists from a few millenium ago - belief in higher powers. In reality, "as far as we can tell" , or "what we actually KNOW", there is no higher power than humans. Who tells us that there is higher powers? - other humans!! [and instinct, feel, beliefs,"we just know" - all fantasy]. Religion and all sorts of other beliefs are keeping us in a state of mind where "we do not know what is best for us, we seek the advice of higher powers". Sounds like a super good way to keep the masses from asking too many questions. Addiction,
We have been trained to listen to our superiors, but now we are they. Nobody really knows better than we do, once we are given the whole story. We are not stupid, though we have been told we are, and have seen many ways in which we can fail, and that we are weak, and that we are prone to making mistakes. We are capable as any other to make decisions, especially about where \our energy should come from. The sun has been the primary source of energy until the industrial revolution, and now that we have made that transition to the technological age, we can go back to the sun for our energy supply - solar panels [and wind, which is largely driven by the sun's heating and cooling routine]. Clean, emissions-free, and able to power our vehicles too. There should be electric cars by now. It is our birthright for this era.
Individuals can now be the power producers, freeing us from the tyranny of "everyone paying into a single corporate entity for something we all use everyday" - electricity, and fuel for power for our vehicles. That will take a huge amount of the wealthy elite's control over us away from them, they stand to lose much. They have much, too much, and it will not be taken away it will just stop coming in. Who could find fault with a plan to free us from this tryanny? It is humane, it will help solve global warming, and it will reduce pollution to almost nil. Also, we could be driving our vehicles for 2 cents a mile, not 10 or 15 cents a mile like we are now. That will make up for the losses we have experienced in recent years due to inflation - rising house prices, food costs more than many can afford, the high costs of providing for our children, and health care costs. We can have all those things, it is our birthright. We are being squeezed by energy costs, and those energy costs COULD be minimal if only we were our own power producers.
Let us have our birthright!!
