Day 8 - And still going strong. *Warning* Graphic food desc. by Moriquendi .....

Detoxing cinnamon rolls.

Date:   10/10/2005 1:51:44 AM ( 19 y ago)

Now I know what it's like to fixate on food.

I went to the mall today with my friend and we decided to stop for beverage. I had a nice cup of tea while she had Diet Coke. It's funny, I couldn't help think of the aspartame and all it's associated problems while she drank it. I've tried to tell her about aspartame in the past but she gets all defensive and angry that I would even dare tell her that there's something wrong with what she does, that I just don't bother anymore.

Anyway, she'll have to deal with the outcome herself.

So, there we were sitting having beverages in, of all places, Cinzeo. (or something like that). It's a Cinnamon Roll bakery where you can actually watch them make the cinnamon rolls right in front of you. Lovely baked hunks of dough mixed with cinnamon topped with this rich creamy sugar stuff.. Smelled incredible.

But I'm not hungry. Really!

I've been watching alot of FoodTV lately too. Not that I watch ALOT of TV, I usually just have it on in the background for noise, but mmmmm... they've been doing alot of beef lately..

And I've been compiling recipes for my future new-way-of-eating too. Almost makes me want to cook.

I suppose that brings me the biggest problem in my life. I hate cooking. Actually it's not so much the cooking as the cleaning up afterwards. I'm 35 years old and can't bring myself to be domesticated. I suspect it's a childhood thing where I was delegated as the cook/housekeeper in the family from the time I was 12 years of age. There was only 3 of us for the most part, but when you're 12 and have to spend your entire life cooking breakfast/dinner, baking desserts, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, dusting, vacuuming, on-and-on, every day, as well as go to school and do homework.. yeah.. no.

I am not fond of extremes. I would have been happy with chores. Vacuum, dust, and perhaps load the dishwasher after meals fine, and even do my own laundry, but frankly, there was 3 of us there. Give you 3 guesses as to what the other 2 were doing while I did the housework.

Yes yes, my mother worked all day, but puulleeeease. Even if she had helped, I might not be so bitter.. And her husband? Well don't get me started. Let's just say he was a good-for-nothing moocher and leave it at that. It took her 18 years to divorce him.

Anyway, I must be detoxing pretty good mentally. I have finally stared at what is really making me angry about the entire housework thing.

Hopefully I can find a way to get over it, sooner, rather than later.

Anyway, must go have some Senna tea, and play another round of video games.

Nite!
