No Shame in Promiscuity by natropractica .....

It’s a blessing to share the beautiful and wonderful things in this world. Sex isn’t always beautiful and wonderful, but it can be. It’s all about the intent of the people involved. You bring everything you are and everything you have ever been with you when you have sex. Those of open hearts and open minds can share the gift of sex generously with how many people they choose and there need never be any shame involved.

Herpes: There is no Shame in Promiscuity

I’ve been thinking about how often my patients and others I speak with want to emphasize very strongly to me that they didn’t get their herpes from promiscuity. I even state that in my own personal herpes story called “ My first year with herpes; or how I was re-born a modern day leper”. I wrote it in my story not because I think there’s anything wrong with promiscuity, because I don’t, but because I wanted to warn people that being in a monogamous relationship does not necessarily protect you from getting sexually transmitted infections.

It feels to me like those people so quick to want to distance themselves from those who may have gotten a STI from being promiscuous are buying into the ignoble lie that those who are generous with their sexuality deserve to be punished for it. How sad to feel this way.

I am a sex-positive person. I’d like to see more sex and less violence, ignorance, intolerance and pettiness in this world. I wish there was more sex and that sex be more honest and human in the media. I encourage all of my herpes patients to have a healthy and fulfilling safer sex life with an anti-viral gel and condom/dental dam. I believe in sex.

I don’t live a promiscuous lifestyle not because I see anything wrong with it but because it simply isn’t my lifestyle. I’m a loner by nature and not that social, plus I live in a rural community of 6000 people where the average age of the women is about 20 years older than I am.

There is no shame in promiscuity. Promiscuity is just as valid a sexua| choice as monogamy. I can see the beauty and spirituality in promiscuity. I can hear the Goddess calling us to share the gift of pleasure generously with each other as if it were a delicious meal or a treasured piece of music. I feel her encouraging us to dance with each other, be intimate with each other and bond with each other. I also see the tackiness and self-destructiveness in some people’s practice of promiscuity, but I don’t blame the promiscuity, I blame the pain and the confusion driving the promiscuity.

Our closest animal relative- the Bonobo chimpanzee, that shares 98% of our DNA, is never monogamous, very promiscuous, very bi-sexual and prone to orgies.

For all of you who are living a promiscuous lifestyle I want you to know you’ll get no judgment from me and that I respect your for having the courage to defy the sexuality imposed by the Vatican and other religious conservatives.

For those of you who make life hard for promiscuous people and anyone who is different, you are the ones who should be ashamed in my opinion. I also want to point out your hypocrisy because most of the people who I hear condemning promiscuous people enjoy watching p 0 r n o g r a p h y whether they admit to it or not.
