We have genes from many bacteria as well. The fact is when Herpes started Infecting human beings we incorporated genes from the Herpes virus into our genome that were useful for our evolution. Since viruses and bacteria mutate so quickly they have been more of a factor in evolution than climate change or any other external element.

There is No Shame in Herpes
