EFT, 90+yr labored breathing

Date:   9/15/2005 7:21:12 PM ( 20 y ago)

Wow, that was really miraculous. I just shake my head about this one. These are more sisters who were at the RS meeting where I did some very gentle chair yoga and we began with some meridian tapping. I had wanted to get back together with the T family and today I did. The mom, about 90 something has various and sundry health difficulties but she's still happy, smiling, alert, and so I usually ask people to tell me about the pain and describe it. So she says, "Oh, I'm fine...." I had to remind her that this wasn't a cordial visit but I needed her to tell me specifically if she had pain some where.

She did. Always pain from the knee down to her foot on the R side. I tapped for her because it seemed like it would work better. We did the set up and the regular short cut. She was very sincere about saying, I love accept myself. After one round of tapping she said, "I don't feel anything." Hmmm. That worried me a bit. But - just that there was no pain. From a 5 to a 0. I was very happy.

She has had trouble breathing for a long time and today as she took a deep breath she would cough and rattle. Actually she had just returned from the hospital a few days ago. So I wanted to do some tapping for the breathing. After the 1st round, her cough was significantly better. After the second round the breathing was easier and the cough almost gone. On the third round I began to introduce the idea of breathing easy and relaxed along with the opposite of having trouble breathing. She was visibly relaxing. Not totally down to a 0, but from a 7 to about 2 or 3.

Then we did some very very gently yoga that she could do in her lounge chair. And about 15 minutes worth. JT, the daughter was there and also experiencing pain in shoulder and wrist and headaches. She felt some relief after tapping. And HL was there too. She's the one who had recent surgery in abdominal area. She felt better after tapping also. Everyone tapped along with me for their own pain.

LT was so funny. When I would be tapping and came to the underarm spot, she would jump and laugh. Her body responded so quickly and easily to the tapping. To me she is like a child in that she has a simple easy faith and trust and always happy and laughing. I'm thinking a good therapy rather than yoga would have been 15 minutes of laughing.

It was a wonderful visit. I hope they use this tool. I expressed how it is like medicine that you might have to take 2 or 3 times every day. This is energy medicine. Prescibed tapping 3 times daily for pain relief.....
I want that attitude when I'm 90.
