A Visualization Technique Used to Test Your Mind for Negative Thoughts and Begin the Process to Change those Thoughts into Positive Ones

Well most of the children in the U.S. have now gone back to school, so it seems only right that the rest of us go back as well. Except for us adults it is time to go to mind school. Yes that wonderful school where we begin to examine our mind for thoughts and thought patterns and determine whether they are positive or negative. If they are only positive, woohoo you’ve already graduated and you don’t even need to go to school. If not, then it is time to batten down the hatches and get ready for some work.

As many of us know and others are starting to realize, thoughts are amazingly powerful and as a result amazingly important. The energy from our thoughts goes out into the universe where they are brought into fruition and sent back to us as experiences and manifestations. As such, we must be ever mindful of our thoughts to insure that we are only creating positive experiences. If you feel as if everything that can go wrong will, well guess what you just created for yourself. If you think your not god enough, then you won’t be. If you think your going to fail, you will. If you think there is no hope for you, there won’t be. This is the reality of co-creation. We think it up and God makes it so.

Some people may say, well if I am thinking negative things why is it that God allows them to be created. Can’t an all powerful God realize that these thoughts are harmful to me and stop them dead in their tracks? Why doesn’t God protect me? Well these are good questions. But usually every good question has an equally good answer and this one does. God makes no judgment as to our thoughts. God does not create labels of good or bad thoughts or good or bad experiences. They are simple experiences. We are the ones who make judgments and create these labels based on whether they bring us a perceived feeling of pleasure or pain. From God’s perspective they are simple experiences and the purpose of experiences is to help us to remember our inherent capabilities. Not to mention the fact that we have free will. We have the free will to think negative thoughts and we have the free will to create bad experiences. That is our choice and God does not interfere in that choice.

So in the spirit of co-creation there is a mind test of sorts that I would like to share to help everyone determine whether they are thinking positive or negative thoughts. This is a litmus test of sorts. It is a visualization technique that I learned and have used with much success and it all takes place in a classroom, hence, the back to school reference early on. So here is how it works:

Begin the visualization by closing your eyes and taking a couple of deep breaths. Allow yourself to let go of any particular thoughts. Try to empty your mind as you might try during a relaxation meditation. When you feel relaxed, begin to visualize yourself in a school. You are walking down the hallway and stop in front of a classroom door. Written on the door in black bold letters is: MIND CLASS. You grab the doorknob and step on in. Create an image of a classroom in your mind. Rely on your memory or your imagination to form the picture. You could use the image of a classroom from your grammar school days, middle school, high school or college whichever you choose. Just make sure it is a classroom that you can associate happy memories. Don’t pick the classroom where the nun hit you with a ruler or a teacher mocked you in front of the class. We want to create an atmosphere of positive energy in this classroom. It is a completely safe and loving environment where the door is never locked and you can always get a hall pass to go to the bathroom.

Once you have the image of your classroom firm in your mind, go find a seat. Don’t worry about books, papers or anything else. You already have everything that you will ever need in this particular class, specifically, your mind. Now as your sitting in your seat, I want you to look up at the black board. Begin the process of projecting some of the random thoughts going on in your mind onto the blackboard. For some there may already be some thoughts up there. Whether they are already there or you have to project them there, begin to look at them and see what they are. Again, if they are negative then there is some work to be done.

Once you have examined the thoughts, go up to the blackboard and pick up a piece of chalk and an eraser. Begin to organize your thoughts into two columns: positive and negative. Once this is organized we are going to look towards the negative thoughts. I recommend taking one negative thought at a time. Start with the harshest or most negative thought. That might surprise you, but I figure why not start with the hard stuff so that everything else is easy. But this is just me. You can start with the easiest one and work your way up. There is nothing wrong with that. Always tailor everything to yourself.

See that negative thought projected in large letters on the blackboard. As you are looking at this thought, begin to feel the positive energy flowing in the room. Acknowledge your desire to let go of this thought. Once you are ready, pick up the eraser and erase it. In essence you are erasing it out of your mind. Erase it as if it never existed in the first place. Once it is erased, write a positive version of this old thought. For example, write I am Smart. You can even simplify it more by capturing it within one word such as Stupid and Smart. So now look at this positive version and begin to feel an amazing positive energy that is emanating from the letters and is flowing to you and into you. Allow yourself to receive this energy and acknowledge it as truth.

Next you can choose to go in two directions. The first is that you can choose to stay here and visualize yourself writing the positive form a hundred times or more. Heck you can even write it a thousand times if you choose. This may be a way of getting rid of the negative thought faster. Your other choice is to come back each day to this room and see yourself erasing the old thought and writing the new one. This is more of a relaxed pace than the first and may be easier for most people.

Whichever you choose, the point is to be able to come to this room and no longer have this particular negative thought. When this has worked, the word stupid will no longer appear on the black board at the beginning of the visualization. Instead the word smart should appear and can be placed in your positive column. You will know you have graduated from MIND CLASS and received you’re A+ grade when there are no thoughts or words under your negative column. Heck at that point you won’t even need a negative column. The entire blackboard will be covered in the most positive energy filled thoughts.

And it is an amazing feeling when you discover for the first time that the negative thought is gone and the positive one is there. You get that feeling of bringing home a great report card. As with any self improvement, acknowledge your successes and praise yourself fro a job well done.

May you all have nothing but the greatest and most powerful and positive thoughts and may those thoughts create equally powerful and positive experiences in your lives.
